I first dabbled with decorative painting about 20 years ago, but fell out of the habit for one reason or another. I just recently started painting again and came across your website looking for christmas things to paint. I love your Christmas ornaments and will be joining the ornament club as soon as I get my bonus in the Spring from work. I've been looking at your DVDs as well. I'm finding the things I have the most trouble remembering is how to float and highlight--they come out looking awful so far. Are these things covered in your DVDs? Or better yet, is there a good book for beginners that cover these things with lots of pictures and explanation? I'm finding that I get a lot of definition between the float and the background, almost like a line had been painting between them. I suspect this means I'm using too much paint, but... Oh, well, didn't mean to babble; I just wanted to let you know how much I'm looking forward to your ornament club this year--can't wait to see what January's ornament is.

Elgin, North Dakota Comments: Hi Jamie, Thanks for sharing the pictures of your Mom.I grew up in Oregon and I had the sweeetest Mom too.You really never get over missing them but you somehow always hear their words of love and encouragemnet.I painted quite a few of ''Under the Harvest Moon'' and they were a big hit and the angel and gingerbread ornaments were too.Everyone loves your designs.Especially my 21/2 year old grandson Eddie.He says Grandma paint so pretty He always says ooooo.then he says I help you gamma.God bless you Jamie

Your books and pattern packets make me smile and I'm always inspired to keep painting whenever I see one of your projects. I have joined your ornament of the month club and it's wonderful. It's so exciting to know there is something special coming in the mail. It's like Christmas every month! I do have a question, I think I read somewhere that some of the gals had suggested organizing the ornament packets into clear plastic sleeves and storing them in 3 ring binders. You mentioned possibly creating a "Cover Page" to put in the front of the binders??? I was just wondering if I missed this or if you had not had the time to do this yet or maybe decided not to????? Either way if you could let me know it would sure complete my "organizational skills"!!  You are such an inspiration to all painters!! It's so much cheaper than therapy!! LOL Thanks bunches. Tampa, Florida USA Comments: Since I discovered your books I have purchased the ones that I found at the shop that I always shopped at and now I have discovered you website I will visit it often. I have made several Santa ornaments for people I work with and they love them. Your Santas are my favorite. But now I am going to try Fraidy the Cat, bet he will become one more of my favorites. (I have 4 cats and my Andy its Fraidy's twin!) Keep up the wonderful designs.

New Zealand Comments: Dear Jamie I love your books and have most of them....in one of your books you have the "Season's Wreath's" which I am just starting...but I noticed you have a metal snowflake stencil in the book. It is slightly different than your clear one on your site. Where is this one available from Also if I ordered your ones do you post to New Zealand.?
