Comments: Whenever I see someone with a family name like ours, I always drop a line to say what a wonderful feeling knowing that this name has been passed down thru the century and still lives on as proud as ever. Good luck in finding your family! I live in Staten Island, NY where strong Italian names are common. Buono Fortuna !!!

Comments: Hi, I'm Salvatore Quartararo and I was born in Palermo 10/12/1969 by my father Girolamo Quartararo (1943-1983) and my mother Maria Cracolici (1949-1990). My grandfather was Salvatore Quartararo and my grandmother Maria Prestigiacomo. Actually I live in Pisa, Tuscany with my wife Laura and my son Michele Quartararo. If you have any question let me know... wow, it's exciting try to put Quartararo stories all together. Best Regards, Salvatore Quartararo
Comments: This is amazing. To find this site and to find all these Quartararo's. I am 2nd generation Quartararo from my grandfather, Rosario Q. He is from Riberia, Sicily. I have only begun to search. I know he had 2 sisters and 3 other brothers. He arrived in US in through Ellis Island in 1923 and settled in upstate NY and married and had 4 boys. I have 3 other brothers along with cousins living in same area. Very nice site. Feel free to email me.
Comments: Hi Ronnie and Anthony, Just for the records I am the daughter of Marie (Quartararo) Culosi and Frank Culosi and granddaughter of Anna and Peter Quartararo as well as first cousin to Ronnie. What a great web sight!!!! I have read Ron's initial paper and Anthony's web sight several times. Last night I was at the web sight again when Jennifer called with some family history questions. All your efforts are greatly appreciated. Ron, your initial paper on the Family History was fantastic and Anthony, you have made it spectacular. Thank you.
Comments: Hi: I'm Joseph, Son of Joseph, Grandson of Joseph, Great Grandson of Giuseppe who was born in Sciacca and owned a bar and small fishing fleet who I have been told died at the age of 93... My American family comes from Brooklyn, NY and my dad had 5 Sisters, My Grandfather had 4 brothers Michael, Philip, Frank and Anthony... I currently live in Virginia Beach and have relatives on my mothers side that live in New Orleans... I have, what I believe to the only copy of the family crest and history. Our name originated in Spain and in 1667 our ancestor married a Spanish Countess and took her name and her money back to Sicily.... where it has survived ever since.... There are a lot of Quartararo's in Naples, Palermo, Memphis and Sciacca... I visited to Sciacca in 1988 and found a street named after us... contact me and I'll try to send you the crest
Comments: Wonderful site. Thanks! I recently discovered that I have quite a bit of family who also lived on Elizabeth St., and surprise! they were also Sicilian. I didn't know that this was the Sicilian street but I see now that it clearly was. Amazing how they sub-divided themselves like that- the Italians from different areas really stuck together. In my family's case there were several families that were from the same small town back home (Villalba), they all moved to the same area in New York and then moved together to Delaware. Talk about sticking together! I'm going to check out the book on Sicilians on Elizabeth St. Has anyone read it? Aliza
Comments: I believe my grandfather was Arcusio & Anna was my grandmother. My father went by Colegero although everyone knew him as Phil. I was born in 1940 we lived on Avenue "U" in Brooklyn. Your historical reaseach is quite enlightening & I appreciate your efforts.
Comments: Hi all Just looking again at the family book, I was watching the Godfather and decided to take a look again!! Can you please update the latest in the grandchildren? My father, Larry Quartararo remarried after my mom who was Risa Parness. I am actually not on there by name, just a circle. but the new marriage was Larry Quartararo to Annette Bell together they had Jessica Quartararo. I am not sure of all the other kids names on Phil and Donna's side Also I am newly engaged to Ron Scott Crouse, so my name will be changing next September... I have not told anyone in the family yet, so this is a good way!!! Thanks, Alexis

Comments: This is a great website on the family history. I enjoyed looking through all of the history of the family name, and where everyone came from and ended up. I am on the west coast, one of over 20 grandchildren of Louis Atillio Quartararo, son of Vincent Quartararo. Thanks again for the great work, I look forward to seeing new information in the future.
Comments: Part of the West Coast Quartararo's .... my Nana was a Trapani and came over to marry my grandfather Vincent Quartararo on a ship in 1879. They settled in San Francisco, had 2 sons, Salvatore Vincent Quartararo (my Dad/93 years old) and my uncle - Louis Anthony Quartaro (now deceased). 18 children from those two and for the most part still on the West Coast with just a fex exceptions (and grandchildren and great-granchildren galore). |
