No Comments: At the age of almost 50, I married a wonderful, widowed woman from Collinsville (a Kahok!). This was and still is my first and only marriage. I have two delightful grandchildren with whom my wife and I are thankful to have the opportunity to spend hours of quality time since we are both retired. I retired from Sigma-Aldrich Corporation in January, 2010 after 38 years of service as a chemist. My wife is a retired RN. Retired life has been a joy! For anyone contemplating retirement or actually retired, I recommend the book titled "How to Retire Happy, Wild and Free". It does not focus on the financial aspects of retirement but rather on the social, psychological and emotional aspects of retirement that are often not considered.

It was great to see the various sections and learn about some of our former teachers and classmates. The classes of 1971 are planning our 40th anniversary reunion Labor Day weekend. Please forward my e-mail to class members or send theirs to me. We get together every five years except the first reunion was our 10th anniversary. Graduated top of my class with B.S. in Biology. Graduated medical school at Univ of Texas School Of Medicine and decided to become a Pediatrician. I have been practicing medicine for 28 years and i love my job . Thanks Thurston for creating this site. This is a good way to keep up with the Flyer nation.

Thought I was a tuff guy, just stupid choices, always trying to get over on the teachers, then I became one after retiring from the U S Air Force. Attended Manners school, then Lansdown. Just squeaked by at East Side.... I saw more of Mr. Ducksworth and Downing than my subject teachers. I often think back and If I could do things over again I would be a lot better student. I'm happy with the way my life has gone and now I'm triple retired and loving it. I'm Looking for Tim Parks he went to East Side also and should have been class of 67. Last I knew of him in about 1971 he had just gotten out of the Marines and was living in a small Illinois town that Started with "New" If anyone knows of him please contact me. "Flyer forever"

Boy did we ever have it easy at school. I thought it was so tough, but life is much harder. Lots of fond memories. Seems like yesterday, but many years have past. I miss those days because of those individuals that have crossed my live. Bless each and everyone one of you for you have blessed my life with the memory.
