Your story has inspired my wife and I since we have a 17 month old daughter with a severe heart condition known as HLHS. When I read the obit in the newspaper about how your daughter did a report to each class on her condition and how the school help our by being able to include her in games in gym class, I started to chock up and cry. She was a world of courage and class. I also work for Verizon in the FiOS department in Hauppauge. Comments: Dear Parents of Grace, I write to you as the parents of Grace because thats how the children, the innocent have referred to you. Your daughter holds a very special place in my heart. I attended Saint Joseph's to finish out my bachelor's degree and I was consistently encountered by fundraisers for Grace. I often gave what I had on me for the special cause I knew little about. It was her angelic face that drew me in, it was also the butterflies that surrounded her picture on the bulletin boards at my school. Butterflies have a significant meaning for loved one's I've lost. I have always felt a special connection to Grace. I am a firm believer in God and in heaven. I have been through experiences when I ask GOD why would he gift a child only to take them back? All I have to go on is faith. Today, two years after I have seen pictures of Grace, my love of my life had mentioned your daughter to me. He is a permanent sub in the Sachem School District. Tonight at the dinner table he told me and his family he had the honor of calling your daughters name at attendance call. For what ever reason your daughter's name was not taken off the roll call. It brought me tears because it was so ironic to me that my boyfriend would be placed in another school and encounter the presence of your daughter. The children spoke fondly of her and there was a presence of her in the classroom. I just want you to know whether coincidence or fate, I believe your daughter is a strong presence in the live's of the many she touched, even those who didn't know her. My condolences!! Comments: Hi all, Keep your eyes and ears open because we are all seeing signs of our Grace. She is a "powerful soul" and still sharing her blessings with us. Daily, butterflies have shown themselves. Her cousins are hearing Grace speak to them and are sharing conversations. Children do not have the baggage that we adults have so we should take a lesson from them.Learn to be present to the moment. Grace has even brought us some laughter in spite of the pain. So Be attentive.....and Be thankful.......Grace continues to give us strength, courage and comfort.
