Comments: Rodger, Little Tank and I will be at the banquet in mind only. While we are sitting on the beach, we will be thinking of all of you! Sorry we won't be there, in person, but our thoughts and prayers will be with each one of you. We are looking forward to seeing you in April (at the MO Rally) then in May (at the Mini-Ride) and in September for the Big Ride. We love you all! Roy & Virginia

Comments: Gary, you said it. What a guy. He could make you feel like you had known him for 50 years. I only met him 3 or 4 times and he was a man that you could not ever forget. OR WANT TOO! He and Dixie danced at the banquet and what a dancer he was. They had such a great time. When Jim and I loaded his old trike up that Sat. morn, I couldn't or didn't want to look at him. He was so sad. Like we were taking a child from him. John, I'll see ya on that beautiful road where you will be waiting for us and then we can ride, ride ride. We miss ya, Bobby and Dixie Taylor

Comments:
I had the pleasure and honor to meet John Matthews only twice which was during the 2008 and 2010 "Ride for the Relay" trips. In 2008 he was a person I met briefly in passing at Santa Monica pier. However, in 2010 I was fortunate enough to have dinner with John, Rodger Fox and Jim Engling. John was such a warm and friendly person. He made me feel like we had been friends for years. He laughed and told us stories of his past. The one that he laughed the most at was when he told us that the doctors gave him six months live, so he sold his motorcycle. However, he has lived way passed his six months but, was unhappy when he seen the empty spot in his garage where his motorcycle sat. So off he went to the bank to try and get a loan to buy a new motorcycle. He laughed the longest when he told us that the bank gave him the loan when doctors only gave him six months to live. He went and bought the new Goldwing trike you see on the cover page of this website. I do not grieve for John because death is a solemn promise we are all given at the time of our birth. I am a Christian and my faith tells me that John has or will see the face of God. He will enter into a paradise beyond our imagination. He will enter with a young new body discarding the eye patch which he wore most of his life. He will be greeded by all of his loved ones and friends that have enter before him. I do grieve for his family, friends and myself who will miss Johns presence in our lives. I will miss you John, until we ride together again in paradise. God bless you.
Your friend Gary Gallo Thank you Gary so much for that, you are right on. I did forward this message to his family. Foxxy
