Comments: Fun to see the 1944 picture of us as babies, Rita. Now we are of Medicare age - what a journey it has been so far. Greetings from Seattle - the rains have come (Seattle women have beautiful complexions due to lack of sun), and leaves are falling. We do have gorgeous "Indian Summers" out here. Greetings to all of you in Edinburg. Mary

Comments: Thank you all so much for the information. I do apologize about the comments I made about Mr. Langerud's friend from the store. I'm sure she is a very nice person & I will proof read anything I write next time when it's that late at night. I'm sorry if any feelings wre hurt. Nancy
Comments: I just had to let somebody know that I was visiting MN a few weeks ago & went into a sports shop to ask for directions. The store was not open yet, but the nicest girl opened the doors & gave me directions. The wrong directions, but she was so sweet I would have to forgive her. Must not have lived there long. Anyway, the point of my story is that she had some music playing in the background & while she was trying to figure out where in the world I was trying to go I heard the greatest music. I can't remember who the artist was, but I do remember the woman told me he lived in ND. Thought she said Hoopla, but then she changed it to Edinburg(I think). I can't remember the name of the store, nor do I want to go back. That girl talked my ear off. I would like to find out who sang the music in the background. She said it was a friend of hers, but she also changed the name a couple of times. I'm trying to remember the last name...because I'm not sure of the first name. She said it was Doug & then she said it was James. I really don't think she had a clue. I found this website & thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. Does anybody know a man in ND going by the name of Doug or James that sings country songs. If so please let me know. I know this is kind of a long email but I want to give as much information as possible. I heard a song I would really like to hear again. It was a slow love song about loving somebody until the stars don't shine again. I know this is a longshot, but I would like to get a copy of this song. I'm getting married next year & would love to have it as our weddng song. By th e way.....Doug or Jim or whoever you are, I think this girl has a crush on you. She had your song playing with the repeat button pushed on the cd player. Thats how I know it would be perfect for me & my boyfriend. Thanks for letting me ramble. Hope somebody can help me.
Comments: Vic & Ginger Young Sept. 2009 Our son Mitch and his friends Dave & Mike Mielke have shared stories about the "cooley" with us forever. Thank you Chuck & Rita for the home cooked meal, lodging, and the tour of the famous cooley. Your town is beautiful !!! See you in Lansing, Ks. soon.
Comments: Once again I enjoyed my visit to Edinburg. I feel so fortunate to still be able to come back to my home town and see so many familiar faces after being gone so many years. You have a great restaurant there - good food and good service. I was glad to see you looking so well, Rita. Keep up the great work you do on the Crow's Nest. Take care and I hope to see you, again, next year.
Comments: Thanks to Fred and Dorothy for a wonderful evening on the patio last Sunday. It was the perfect stop after the Frostfire production of "Fiddler on the Roof"! We're glad Jackson and Taylor had time to join us, AND my aunt Lois Ydstie, too! Your town looks great - definitely a source of pride for many. (P.S. Your website is WONderful!)
Comments: P.S. - The 50 lbs. of spuds I brought back to Seattle didn't last long and were delicious! Our three kids and the grandkids said they've never had such good potatoes.
Comments: It is supposed to be 101 degree's in Seattle today, a new record for this date. I should take my 3rd trip to Edinburg (since April) and get in on some of the 70 degree weather you're having, sounds wonderful to me right about now! Anyway, I just wanted to drop in and say hello.
Comments: My paternal grandparents, Peter and Ella Nygard, were from Edinburg and my sister, Laurie Foseide, lives there now. I visited Edinburg last week and was impressed with the beautiful lamp posts and flower baskets that line the main street! I also drove out to see the Odalen monument -- what a beautiful memorial it is! I especially liked the concrete footprint of the church and the placement of the bell and centennial plaque. The thoughtfulness that went into the entire memorial of Odalen is great and pays homage and tribute to our fore fathers who built and established the church. Well done!! |
