My 76 year old mother was diagnosed with TN ten years ago but the stress of caring for my elderley father (he has had a few strokes, has diabetes and is frail) brought on an attack 2 months ago. Driven mad by the pain she started self medicating her carbemazapine taking double the dose to 800mg a day. This put her in hospital for a week as her blood pressure went through the roof past 200. She's back home now but seeing her still in pain is making my heart break as I try to be strong for my folks. If you have any words of faith (we're roman catholics) or advice on alternative remedies rather than carbamazipine I would love to hear from you.
