I served on Franklin D. Roosevelt from august 67 till dec 68 through med cruise and part of dry dock. Served mostly under Lt. Comander Ambrosia . may have mispelled name.

I am interested in finding anyone who may remember my Dad. His name was Stan Bitout, but everyone called him "Bit". He was on the Rosie until Dec of 1953.

Ahoy Shipmates ,

It's been quite a ride since I was on the Rosie from 1961 til 1963. I served in O.I. as a Radarman SN and absolutely enjoyed the experiences both good and bad. Learned a great deal then and we grew up fast particularly during our emergency, high elert, silent running from coast of Africa to Cuban blockcade. Did anybody out there notice that nowhere, noone, no author has ever published what really went on down there when Castro cut the water to the base . Makes one a bit nervous seeing all the politics and wars being undeclared Executive Orders etc.,
Can't wait to see my former shipmates .

Served 1975 -1977, B-Div 1A boiler room,was on the last Med Cruise and was part of the decommissioning crew and I still have the coin that was givin out.
