Comments:

I was on board the Bexar from around Aug of 62 to May 66 as a radioman.  I haven't been able to find out if there are any reunions for the Bexar.  If they are happening I would like to receive emails to let me know so that I may make plans to attend one of them.

Comments:
Today, August 19, is the 50th anniversary of the USS Bexar going through Typhoon Ellen in 1959.
I was aboard as a young marine passenger, seven days past my 19th birthday and I remember lots of details.
A number of people were killed that day including a nice kid named Holmes that I went through basic training with.
I'd appreciate hearing from anyone that was aboard then.
I can be reached at raykearns@verizon.net.
Semper Fi,
Ray Kearns
