I absolutely agree with you. Native Texans have been confused about their identity. Tejano or Tejana is the correct definition for anyone who are descendants from early settlers in Texas. I don't identify with other Latinos or Hispanics recenty arrived. My family suffered many hardships, dislocations, and deportations for just looking Mexican. My ancestors fought along side many others who died to live in this country. My great grandfather and his brother participated in the American Civil War. No one should allow anyone deny us the right to call ourselves by what best describes us. So many Tejanos lost their lands or their lives to greedy Anglos. The Texas Rangers were not the heroes made out to be by the white man. The wealthy landowners used them to steal many Tejanos' lands to satisfy their land grabbing desire. We need to educate our people to all the injustice our ancestors endured and how institutionlized discrimination is being used against them. Education is our salvation!

Thanks for info.
