Comments: Fred, the tach generator can be located on the pad either above or below the starter, both pads were used for the tach generators if it was set up as a "T" model (had to have a second tach generator to feed the tach on the rear instrument panel) hope this helps steve noyes noyes ent birddogs are us home of the Lyc 540 SUPERDOGS 92 hanover st Newbury, ma.01951 home of the ONLY stc'd -11 cruise prop 9788360361 birddog sales, service restoration and modifications
Comments: Has anyone heard of a run away prop on a -15. We have a member who had a run away and got it on the ground right away. I know what the book says "replace the prop". That isn't the answer we can use. Thanks: Fred
Comments: Fellow IBDA members, Some of you have been in the inside loop to a problem that I found out about around six months ago. I was out of town with one of my dogs and needed maintance, the mechanic did a reggy search and found it was not registered to me. I informed my PMI at the Farmingdale FAA and he confirmed somebody had forged a reggy and bill of sale. Over the last few months it came up that the data plate in my aircraft was an un authorized duplicate. Contacted the Fort Worth Police where the new registrant was and filled a complaint because FAA was not showing interest. They said it was a civil matter but after the police came up with info the FAA steped in. Today had a three way tele meeting with the FAA and the FAA law guy, should have know something was scewy when the lawyer got involved. Turns out the guy who forged my name on the bill of sale was an FAA inspector named R. Donnalan. and used an address a few houses away from his own. They tell me the inspector said he got the plate from a georgia salvage yard a few years back and did not know the proper way to dispose of it. They say he forged my name because he thought the aircraft was destroyed and that it is no big deal it is not like he was commiting identity theft. It looks like I will be taking the FEDS to court seems like identity theft to me.
Comments: the Bernalillo County (albuquerque) sherrif's dept has an 0-1 setting in a lot rotting. I think they will allow some one to put it back in flying condition but one senior wants to give it to a school to use as a training aid. If anyone is interested in trying to get the plane restored and flying I can direct you attention to the correct offices. I never flew them, only spent countless hours in the back seat as an observer, radio relay for recon teams, and just scrounging rides from one place to another! moe elmore 505-453-8287
