Bobby, happy birthday!  Also, I went to the vpike.com site and tried to find our house.  I don't remember the address, but I think it was 45 something.  What was your address?

Jack, that's quite the site you posted.  I found the owners have put some upgrades on our old house, but Charles Terry's house is literally boarded up....could be a bargain if anyone is interested.  Dr. John Baker's house looks ok as well.

Ladies and Gents, for those in the Dallas area, I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce, for what, we understand, will be a very limited appearance, that bright, shining spot in the sky, THE SUN. While the Sun likes warming the earth, his favorite past time is placing a warm glow on skin and turning pasty white skin to a dark brown or even if you choose a bright RED. So if you have a chance today, show him some skin (no matter how brief) to encourage him to stick around or at least come back soon.

Happy Birthday Bobby!! Hope you drained the tub for the winter so you won't be tempted!!

Even though I haven't posted in a while, I always check the GB to see what is going on.  It is always good to see what is going on. Happy belated birthdays to those I have missed recently.  Also, congrats to the anniversaries.  Finally, good to read that the new ones all appear to be getting better.  After watching our son's twins last year  Joyce and I really do thank God for the expertise of those at the hospitals that take care of those little ones and get them over the hump and on their way to normal lives.

Jack, I checked out your link.  My old house is still there, but it appears that some changes have been made around it.  The chain link fence on the back yard has been replaced by wooden one and it appears that the grocery store may have been closed. Very interesting link, I may check out other locations in the old neighborhood.

S   L   O   W    day on the board....
Someone sent me the site http://www.vpike.com/  You can put in an address and it takes you there and you can do a 360 view and move up and down the street. I did the block where I grew up on and up and down Lancaster in front of Lisbon. Couldn't recognize anything but the school. I went down the side street and it looks like they added on to Lisbon where the swing sets used to be.
Jerry, I think your old house is completely gone.
While we know things change and nothing stays the same, it is amazing HOW MUCH they change.
JD, Lancaster Avenue Methodist Church (my Grandmother was a founding member) is now a funeral home.
