Been here before; very good friends and classmates with Pat Jones RIP the originator of High Desert Memories .. Today, I'm researching a pix of what, in the '50's, was known at the "Yucca Inn" on China Lake Blvd. An email from Robert 'Tex' Whitson says another business is opening on the site, and the new operator wants to develop a history of the businesses that have operated here - Yucca Inn might have been the very first .. Thanks, and I hope to hear from you .. James of Sacramento county

Comments: Family moved to China Lake in 1945, our duplex on Kitts Rd had not electricity, only water. We had to eat with the sailors in their mess hall. We would see the Chinese workers when the wind wasn't blowing so hard that you couldn't see anything. A great place to grow up. (but kind of boring)
