Comments: My husband and I lost our daughter, Amanda, to cancer on June 5, 2007. She was 27 years old, and left behind a confused six-year-old daughter and a broken-hearted family. Someone recently emailed your poem, "The Dash" to us, and I wanted to tell you that it brought tears to my husband's eyes and touched us both very deeply. Amanda died in my arms; I would see her out of this world just like I saw her into it 27 years before. Her "dash" was filled with close friends and loving family, a beautiful daughter, work and college, joy and disappointments and, at the end of her life, tremendous courage. Her dad and I are living our lives with your poem as our mantra now. It is the best way we know of to honor her incredible strength and spirit. Thank you for putting our feelings into words for us. Dale & Sara Thierer In loving memory of Amanda Susan Thierer
Comments: I have been attending Dream Makers Academy, Facilitators Track this year. I am planning to use your poem in my groups public presentation Oct 24, 2008, before I graduate from the program. I first heard about it from JR Ridinger, CEO of Market America in an audio recording of one of his convention speeches. I really like it.

Comments: Dear Miss Ellis, As a former Marine ('62-'68) and a VietNam veteran('65-'66) I want to wholeheartedly THANK YOU for you poem "The Men Behind The Names". A friend of mine who is also a VietNam vet sent it to me and I am crying as I type this. Having been to "The Wall" and "The Traveling Wall' many times I am reminded of the sacrifices of those whose names are engraved there and some of them who I served with. Again, THANK YOU. James Acquarolo
Comments: Linda.....read your poem the other day in church. EXCELLENT!! I love poems but this one really has touched me.
Comments: Linda, I first heard about you from Simple Truths and read the poem, The Dash, I was so impressed with your writing I started reading your other poem's and read "Remember Me" I lost my husband last year 10/19; he was killed on his motorcycle. When I read Remember Me; it was as if Jim was speaking to me; so I speak his name and keep his image in my mind and so his life has not been in vain. I sent your link to all my friends and purchased your book of poetry on line and can't wait til you have it in hard copy. I am waiting for you to come to Tampa, Florida to speak and will be there. Thank you, for all your beautiful words and for answering me personally on several occassions. Doris
Comments: Dear Linda, Your Poem Remember me was sent to me by a very good friend, after I lost my dear younger brother.Whom went into Hospital for a routine appendix operation and three days later he was know longer with us.The pain is still so great that I don't know what day it is,or is it morning or evening, everything just rolls into one.He did leave us all a Fantastic gift, the gift of his four children, who will live on to remind us daily of their wonderful father. My dear brother was only 42,and your poem remember me said everything that ran through my thoughts and is so beautiful. Thank you so much for helping me to heal. Yours Donna Jones.

Comments: Hello Linda, I attended the funeral of a friend's mum today, his dad died only a few weeks ago. These two people had truly extraordinary lives. The priest read your poem "The Dash" which brought many to tears. After the service I was speaking with the priest and said to her "I am going to try to Google that when we get home." She replied "Oh, you can.. I did!" I was sitting next to my son who is 17 and has lived his extraordinary life with a complicated heart condition and simply shouldn't be with us today. We know all about the dash as we live it every day, but how wonderful to have someone put that feeling into words. Thankyou Sue Tivey-White, Kilmore, Victoria, Australia
Comments: Linda- My wife put this poem on our refrigerator a few years ago. It did not include the author. I had some music I had written a long time ago on my guitar and your poem fit it beautifully. I just googled " How Do You Live Your Dash" and found you. I do not play outside of my home but from now on if I play it for anyone I will give you the credit you deserve!
