How did you find Legends of America? most interesting

Comments:
There was (forgive me) a mountain in New Hampshire called "Nigger Nose" Mountain, now called Mount Kennedy, after the president.

There is also a town in Texas called Winnie (pronounced 'Weenie'.)

How did you find Legends of America? Searching for information about African American Pioneers, Cowboys and Nicodemus, Kansas

Comments:
This site gave me more information about what I was researching, African American pioneers, cowboys and Nicodemus Kansas. After realizing it was chocked full of other information about all sorts of things I refer to it often. Great site!

Love study both world history as well as American history, but lately I been concentrating and focusing on our American history. Oh by the way I really love your website. In fact it may help me in my book that I'm in the planning stages of writing. Again super great job on your website. Thank you. Kevin L. Broehm Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin

I used to live on Hiway 28a and would go to the General Store at the totum pole and get snacks when I didn't want to drive to Squaremore. As a kid and young adult, I never paid attention to the cool things that I was surrounded by. I learned to do the two step, kinda, on old 66 in Foyil. Who else can say that? I used to sell auto parts at the NAPA in Chelsea on Hiway 66, I used to drag race on 66 in Claremore, i jumped a train in Verdigris and rode it to Claremore with a buddy when I was 9 yrs old. Scared the crap outta us. After I got married, we bought a house in Talala that was owned by the bank owner where Will Rogers banked and then a barber used to cut Will's hair in the same house. We have pics of Will on the front porch of the house. I hated selling that place but with a family to raise, I had to follow the oil field job to Houston. Keep up the good work.
