Comments: We cannot wait to arrive, we packed a week ago to arrive on 11/13/09. We will be celebrating our wedding anniversary by being a part of the Aloha spirit of loving the island, snorkeling and hiking during the day and kicking back on an oceanfront lanai to watch an incredible sunset by evening. Mahalo for being Hawaii. There is no place like it!!!! Aloha
Comments: I love our condo at Lawaii. We own in the Banyon building and have never had a "bad" room yet. The condo is always neat and clean, and everyone on staff is friendly and helpful. Keep up the good work, and see you again next year!
Comments: WE LIKED IT SO MUCH , WE BOUGHT A DEEDED TIMESHARE THERE,SO WE CAN GO BACK EVERY YEAR.
Questions to LBR or Webmaster Returning to Kauai Comments: We are spending our 30th wedding anniversary at the resort in December. Cannot wait to return to the beautiful island of Kauai. We haven't been there since just before the hurricane in the 80's. I am sure things have changed but it can only add to the ambience. We will be there at the rainy season, but don't care-just give me Kauai!!!
Comments: LBR is our home away from home and our little slice of heaven. We also own a timeshare with my in-laws at the Point at Poipu (formerly the Embassy), and hands down, LBR is our favorite place to stay. The atmosphere, location, staff, and views are better - it has more of an island feel to it and is more relaxed. We always stay in the same 4th floor Alii unit, and though we have a beautiful bedroom, we always sleep in the living room sofa-bed so that we can listen to the ocean and tropical breeze all night long. Can't beat eating breakfasts on the lanai, watching surfers, the ocean and gorgeous sunrises. And though we felt it was perfect just the way it was, I just saw the videos of the planned renovations for the Alii, and I didn't think it was possible, but now our Kauai "home" will be even better! Thanks to everyone who works at LBR, because you make it the awesome place that it is. - Cora and Wayne
Comments: Lawai Beach Resort has fabulous oceanviews, make sure you bring plenty of Hawaiian shirts from http://www.waveshoppe.com because you will be located right across from the Pacific Ocean! I would highly recommend staying at this resort.
Questions to LBR or Webmaster LBR is a fantastic resort!!!! Comments: My husband and I recently visited Kaua'i to celebrate our 30th Birthdays and stayed at the Lawai Beach Resort in July 2009. What an amazing retreat!!! We were so impressed by the friendly staff and concierge! Thank you so much for making our first trip away from our kids so relaxing and memorable! I would highly recommend staying at this resort in the future! In fact we're already planning our next visit so we can bring our kids back! Thank you so much!!!

Comments: My wife and I are looking forward to our visit at LBR in August '09. But we're having trouble getting information from the concierge to plan our trip. We've heard you can sometimes get discounts to local attractions by attending the resort orientation. If that's correct, does anyone know whether you can get discounts to the Kauai Backcountry Adventures tubing excursion?
Comments: My wife and I spent our 10th anniversary at Lawai Beach Resort during the middle of June 2009. This was a fabulous place. The accommodations were great and the location is absolutely perfect. You are never more than an hour from most anything on the island. Plenty of great restaurants in the Poipu Beach area just down the road and the Beach House just across the street is great (particularly at sunset). When we come back, we will stay at the Lawai Beach Resort.
Comments: I stayed at Lawai Beach Resort two years ago and I want to say it was very nice place with friendly atmosphere and relaxing place to have a cool rest. Be sure, I will definitely be coming back soon enough - hope on upcoming summer. I'm looking forward to it! My Hawaiian shirts site
Questions to LBR or Webmaster A great resort Comments: My son and grand kids are staying there and feel it is the best place they have stayed at. Keep up the good work and after seeing the photos we will frequent the resort next time we are in Aloha Land.
Comments: My wife and I stayed at LBR for 2 wonderful weeks last April (2009). This was our 1st occasion to stay for 2 weeks. Our stay was wonderful !!!!! We were able to really relax and enjoy LBR and Kauai as if it were home. We didn't feel rushed to do anything. It was "home"!!! The staff at LBR was always extremely pleasant and very helpful - which added to our positive experience. We are looking forward to our next visit (next April) so that we can enjoy our Hawaiian "Home" again. Keep up the great work See ya soon & Mahalo Ed & Belinda Kent ps: My Brother & Sister-in-Law (Dennis & Cathy Kent) pretty well sums up our feelings as well on their comments - LBR is also a family thing for us
Comments: We have been to lawai beach resort for the last 8 years for the month of august and as we loved it there so much we were wondering if anyone wanting to sell their week anytime during august to please let us know. Thank you so much. our number is 760-808-4303
Comments: It has been 2 long years since our last visit "home". It will be at least that long until we return. Thank you for keeping it in such good repair. The rice cooker we requested was delivered before we could finish looking at the view. We saw monk seals and turtles at the best beach. We enjoyed the sound of the surf and the sky turning pink while having coffee on the lanai in the morning. Mini golf was a fun game even though a pineapple shower put it on a temporary delay. Everyone smiles and says "hello" when you pass them. It feels welcoming even though you know for them, it is work even if for us it is play time. The only other time you will wake up in paradise is when you don't wake up at all.
Comments: Once again our 2 weeks at LBR was not long enough; but we'll be back!! The resort remains in tip-top condition even with the economizing efforts and all of the staff continue to do superb jobs. The construction project out back looks so much nicer green than the red dirt of 2 years ago. Mahalo for the "welcome home greeting" that we received upon our arrival!!! [View Entry]
Comments: My Mother, Sister and I just got back from spending a week at the Lawai Beach Resort. I now know why my mother comes back every year. The rooms are set up perfectly, the grounds are impectible, the view is unequaled, and the staff is exceptional. I am already making plans to return with my mother and will bring my daughters with us. The best vacation I have ever had! Sondra
Comments: We just returned from a week at Lawai. We have a week in the Alii building and we were pleasantly surprised by the upgrades including the ramp and the new sliders on the lanai. Your place is a little piece of heaven on earth. Even the Kukuliula project behind hasn't spoiled it for us. The snorkeling across the street was stellar as usual and the service at the resort was top notch. We would recommend it to anyone who likes peace and quiet and a great view of the ocean. We had 2 couples in our 1 bedroom and we had plenty of privacy and space. Thanks for keeping our vacation home so pretty and clean!
Questions to LBR or Webmaster Fabulous time but what about weed control? Comments: LBR is our little piece of heaven. This was our first Mom/Daughter only trip and it couldn't have been any better. This time will always be remembered as one of lifes most precious treasures. You folks at LBR went way beyond the call of duty to make it perfect. There is just one thing we want to draw to your attention when you consider weed control chemicals, which we understand are needed to keep your grounds so gorgeous. The gardener sprayed everyday with a solution he called "Round Up" to keep the nasty weeds under control. We noticed, however, that the beautiful Ocean with its magnificent tropical fish, the endangered Monk Seals as well as people swimming and snorkeling are but several hundred feet from where these chemicals are being deposited. What are we doing to our Ocean, the young and the old who enjoy it and these living gifts we've been given?
Questions to LBR or Webmaster wonderful place Comments: I was just reading some of the comments and it made me yearn to be at LBR. We were there in Feb and March of 08' It was my first trip to Hawaii and my husband hadn't been there since his trip with the US Navy Many years ago. My sister and brother-in-law met us there and we shared a one bedroom on the 4th floor of the Alii building....we had plenty of room and we had a wonderful time. I would love to be able to own there. We traveled the whole island as well as a day on Oahu, and we decided we had the very best accomodations....our view was terrrific, we watched whales daily from our lanai....the employees were so nice . What a wonderful place to be! I'd recommend it to anyone! We did many side trips, etc, but also loved hanging out at the pool or on the lanai. We're longing to come back. Mahalo! [View Entry]
Questions to LBR or Webmaster comments regarding Unit #1314 - Alii Comments: Aloha........ We've been whole unit owners (not time share) of Unit 1314 in the Allii Bldg. since the summer of 1992 and , sadly, have decided to offer our condo for sale. The unit has one of the most incredible views of the south Poipu beach and ocean, is equiped with all new appliances and provides a complete escape from the normal realities of mainland living. Drew Vento of Makai Properties is the responsible agent to contact....email drew@drewanews.com or call him at 742-2244 for further information. The asking price is $875,000. Anyone can also email us at edelaney1@cox.net or call 520-803-9580 to answer any questions. Mahalo for your interest and enjoy your adventures in Paradise! Ed & Lois Delaney
Comments: Super! Thank you
Comments: My wife and I have been completely satisfied owners in the Banyan since 1994. We have a 1 B unit, but occasionally enjoy a 2 B upgrade through our timeshare exchange company located right at Lawai Beach Resort (Hawaiian Timeshare Exchange Co.) We have done travel exchanges at other resorts in the Caribbean, Florida, and Mexico, but have yet to find any that satisfy us as our own place here at Lawai Beach Resort. Numerous resort amenities, frequent upgrades, and a friendly staff make this island resort truly our "home away from home" lending itself to the Aloha spirit of the islands of Hawaii!
Questions to LBR or Webmaster can't wait to visit LBR Comments: I own 3 weeks in Grand Solaris Resort (Cancun & Cabo Sn Lucas), traded this year one week for LBR. After reading reviews from this website, pretty sure I'm gonna enjoy my vacation on Dec 2008. And anyone who wants to trade for next year and try my 'home resort'... let me know.
Comments: Taking my husband (and his siter and brother-in-law) as a surprise retirement gift to Lawai Beach Resort end of April '09. What will the weather be like and how will we fare without air conditioning? Most interested in the beach and pools. Is the resort clean? 1st time in Hawaii. Recommendations?? Thanks.
Comments: Aloha, I just wanted to say we really enjoyed our stay at the resort. We stayed in the Likalani Building, there were 6 of us in all and we didn't feel a bit crowded. This room has a very nice layout and the staff were very friendly. There is construction going on behind the unit but it wasn't to bad, although I'm glad they do get weekends off... Security drives around quite often which really made me feel safe... And I found the locals to be the friendliest people we've ever met. There's a hot dog place in the Poipu Shopping Village called Puka Dog, I read about this place and was a little unsure about it in the begining, but I must say it was awesome and the cheepest meal we had. The shrimp van had great shrimp too ( they're usually open from 11-2) While we were there we went to the Hyatt's Luau, a little pricey but really worth it. I don't recommend doing it the first night , There is a 5 hr time difference between there and here and we were all really hungry and tired by the time it started. The next day we took a drive to the north shore and did a little snorkling at Tunnels Beach, while there, we were able to see some sea turtles, after a while we drove rest of the way to Ke'e Beach to watch the sun set, while there, we were able to see a monk seal and met some locals that showed us the first hula grounds on Kauai. There is a hiking trail as well, we didn't do a lot of it but there are some amazing views from up there. ( after sun set you'll need insect repealent) The last day we took Capt. Andy's sun set dinner cruise, a lttle pricey as well but it was a great ending to a great trip and the best way to watch the sun set.
Comments: My husband and I are coming in 2 weeks to Lawai Beach Resort for our 2 week stay. We always extend it for a few days at the end. Last year we were there for 4 weeks for our 25th anniversary. It still never seems long enough! We have been owners in the Banyan since 1996. We can't wait to arrive. The staff is always warm and makes you feel like "Ohana". Jadene & Larry B
Comments: We stayed in the Ali'i building recently & LOVED the LBR. The staff was prompt to fix any problems that arose. Most of all, the location felt secluded, yet a short drive or walk to some key places. The resort was quiet during evening hrs. GORGEOUS view from our lanai. Construction only happened during the day--when we were out exploring the island (plus, if you're traveling there from the mainland, you'll be waking up well before the roosters or the construction). I've read complaints about dust from the construction going on behind the resort, however, they have erected a tall wall of material to keep the dust from blowing into the LBR. I would recommend attending the resort's island activity orientation--we won 1/2 off a really fun activity (saved us almost $200)! We were so comfortable in our condo unit & were sad no units were for sale--this is a great resort!
Comments: I have been staying at the Lawai Beach Resort since my parents became 'whole unit owners' of #1314 in the Alii Building way back in 1992. This trip is bittersweet as we have decided to put our place up for sale. The property is a cherished member of our family and has provided us with many years of wonderful times, not to mention the outstanding vacation rental investment it has produced. Hoping all of you enjoy your stay here. How can you not? If you are looking for a primary residence or a great investment here at the resort, feel free to give me a call. 742-6369 Mahalo, Dennis Delaney
Comments: Kaui has the best solar conditions in the world, why not heat the pools with solar panels, and a solar blanket...Propane is outrageous and not environmentally.. We love the resort and staff. Why not solar voltaic with Kaui electric 3-4 times higher than anywhere else. Tom Walker
Comments: Our favorite place in Hawaii -- My wife and I bought on our honeymoon 14 years ago -- and thought it would be a great property to trade. Well, I think we traded once way back when, and won't go anywhere else now. We've stayed at the Hyatt, Mariott and Princeville Resort and more on Kauai. We've been many places on Maui, Lanai, Oahu and the Big island. LBR is now the standard. Some places are nicer, ritzier, better appointed, but none more relaxing and comfortable. We started as just a couple, and now have three pre-teen kids. LBR has fit our needs all the way. Following our lead, my in-laws have bought ~5 weeks on the island (at the marriott), and my mom has bought at LBR. First of all, it's the best sunset in the world. Snorkling's great. The Beach House is nice. There's plenty of great restaurants, which aren't too hard to find. Other favorite low-key places to eat . . . Hamura Saimin is simply the bomb! a total dive in Lihue, but the best noodle soup you'll ever have. Breakfast at Joes at the Kiahuna Golf Club is fabulous. Take out lunch at Koloa Fish Market may mean you go nowhere else the rest of the trip. Puka Dog is fun. Waimea Brew Pub is a great stop on the way to or from the canyon -- make sure you take a brief walk out toward the beach. While all the views are remarkable -- here's a few to make sure you hit: Go to the top of the canyon 3-5 miles past the state park, and take the 1-2 mile walk down the road to the rim of the canyon dividing waimea canyon from the Napali Coast; brave the dirt road and go to barking sands beach; up north check out the end of the line Kee beach (sp?). See you in March '08!
Comments: The vacation was excellent, and very fun. The resort is beautiful, and tropical. I sure had a wonderful time at your resort. Ps: When me and my family were leaving to go back home, I left my orange folder in room 3109. The orange folder is under the chair in the room with twin beds or any other place it could be. If any of the staff members find a orange folder with sheet music on the front, could you please email me, and please mail it back here in Illinois. I would truly appreciate if my folder is located and mailed back to where I live.
Comments: We stayed for our anniversary 45 years we had the best time of our lives .there everthing was clean, great view, the rooms where great also ,caarwill stay again a.s.a.p.
Comments: Two friends and I just returned home from a 2-week Girl's Getaway in Hawaii! We stayed 1 week at LBR, and just loved everything - even the room service breakfasts!!! The staff are nice, the view wonderful, the area the best!! Can't wait to return! -Diana
Comments: My wife and I, daughter, son-in-law, and grandson just visited a couple of weeks ago. We own 2 weeks and frequently visit all the way from South Carolina. Sorry, but you Californians have it easy
Questions to LBR or Webmaster LBR Comments: We are owners at LBR in the Baynan Bldg. Were there in 2006 right before the construction started next door... How has the noise, dust & activity been??? Thanks
Questions to LBR or Webmaster Which Building for the best Ocean View. Comments: My husband and I are visiting LBR for the first time next month as a gift from a friend. We are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We want this to be the best trip possible. We are looking for a room with a great ocean view. Any suggestions? Also tips on what to do? Mahalo!
Comments: Looking forward to our stay this November (2007).
Questions to LBR or Webmaster Travel Comments: Our team at home school recently visited your resort. We had a wonderful time. Your service is fantastic. I highly recommend your resort to everyone.
Comments: My wife and I purchased two weeks in Lika Lani at LBR after just walking by the complex. After staying there for two weeks we are in the process of closing on purchasing another deeded two weeks. That says it all! Very nice accomodations and a well kept up resort. As to the complaints about noise, the noise is generated by the construction and earth movers just east of LBR where contractors are in the process of developing the huge fields for million dollar housing and a golf course. It should be quite nice development when completed. The development is not part of LBR.
Questions to LBR or Webmaster We are considering buying a timeshare on Kaua`i nei. Comments: Can you tell us which buildings have ocean views, 2 bedroom or one bedroom, etc.? We have been traveling to Kaua`i for many years and have stayed many different places. Our favorite place is Kuhio Shores, but unfortunately cannot afford to buy one! ![]() One week is never enough. Even 2 weeks leaves us wanting more time and tears as we fly out of Lihue! Mahalo plenty for any info you can give us! Malama pono, Ralph & Kelley Heinz
Comments: i love your hotel i love your POOL!!!!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
Comments: We just returned from a week in the Banyan building and we really loved this resort. Great location, beautiful grounds, and the pools were all different - we hung out at the Banyan and Alilli pools most. My one complaint is about other guests and how clueless they could be about noise just outside of someone's bedroom window. Thanks for recycling, but at 10 PM? or worse, 4 AM! Other than that, Lawai Beach was truly a little slice of paradise. Enjoy! I recommend a late walk in front of the Banyan building - you won't believe the frogs! If we go back, it would be after the construction at Kukuilua (?) is finished. I'm afraid that the noise is going to deter from the overall experience.
Comments: Thank you Lawai Beach Resort! We just returned home to California after a wonderful week at your resort! We couldn't be happier with how our week went. We had a great 1-bedroom ocean view room that fit four of us quite comfortably. 2 of the 4 were even my in-laws, and it was still fine. Your staff was great... the only exception would be our experience in the Rooftop Cafe and the shortage of staff in the rec. room... but we were so busy seeing your beautiful island, swimming in the pool, sitting in the awesome rock-spa, and snorkeling across the street, that we hardly worried about those small issues. My kids loved looking at us on the resort live cam… That’s a great touch! We’d talk to them on the phone and wave to them from the live cams. Thanks again. We’ll visit again as soon as we can! Marc
Comments: My fiance and I received a trip to LBR for a wedding present! We are very excited to be going and would like any suggestions as to where to eat and what to do on the island between 9/28-10/5. Neither of us have been to Kauai before! |
