randomly ended up at the middle east downstairs in cambridge last sept
Maserati happened to be opening for Mono , i had never heard of them before. I was blown away by Jerry's powerful drummer. After the set I approached Jerry and we talked briefly , I even worked the merch table with him for a few. He was super down to earth and very modest..a very likable guy.
Been thinking of you lately man , Prayer and thoughts

I have known Jerry since we were in diapers. His mom is my older brother's Godmother. We spent every Thanksgiving and Christmas (Which was Jerry's birthday) together during my formative years. I have so many memories about Adam and Gretchen, hell even his older sister Heidi. But Jerry was always the one that brought us together even as kids. His brother Adam is doing Adult Swim stuff on Cartoon network now, mostly Williams Street productions like Meatwad's voice. In memory of Jerry, check out Adult Swim.

The memory I want to share with the world has to do with Jerry's birthday. His ninth birthday, to be exact. This was the year that he got his first drum set. It was totally awesome.
Having known Jerry since birth, I shared with him my belief that he was getting screwed being born on Xmas."Hey you should get two presents!" He disagreed. He REALLY believed that it was great that his siblings got presents on his birthday.
To Jerry, that was the best thing ever, kinda like hobbits, I guess.

I live an adult life now, I guess. I really miss having people like Jerry, Joy and Jerry (not SR.) in my life. The Fuchs family are world class people.

I was fond of Jerry's drumming style, which was truly overwhelming. My thoughts go to his familly and friends. Jerry will rest in our hearts and ears.

As a drummer myself and someone who had dedicated their time to preserving music history on film, I was greatly moved by the loss of Jerry Fuchs. Jerry had everything a band could want in his playing, but it was his character and personality that stood out just as much on video. In no way can we measure what losing Jerry means for his family, friends, and band, but his spirit and musical legacy will live on, as will his memory in your heart.

Hello Mr and Mrs Fuchs, Erica, Gretchen, and Adam. I am so sorry to hear of Jerry's death. I didn't even know that he'd gone on to become such a talented drummer. I just remember Jerry from Willow Point as a childhood friend playing ping pong in the basement, or swimming. I was looking for Jerry on Facebook and found the article. I just wanted to send my regards. Jerry is one of the finest examples of a wonderfully altruistic person. Not an ill word could be spoken of him.

i have listened to the music he was a part of for days on end. I only got to experience his talent in person once in DC when Maserati was opening for Mono. I am a guitarist from North Carolina. I have dabbled with the drums many times over the past few years but Jerry made me want to be a drummer. The power he had behind his kit was incredible. Very Inspiring as well. I listen to the recordings he was on over and over and over just using my mind to separate the drums from the other instruments. When im doing this i dont think about anything negative or bad going on in my life. i just let the music take control and let the snare and bass pull me into a place i never really knew about until i heard him play. Thank you so much opening a new door for me Jerry. I saw a great comment someone had left on a video of jerry on youtube. it said, "i hope your in heaven Jerry, Playing with Hendrix." That made me smile because i know he is in a good place, watching all of his peers from above.

I saw you guys open for Mono in D.C. a few months back at the Rock and Roll Hotel. I stood right in front of Jerry's godly kit. You guys rocked so hard. But Jerry....when he rolled out on stage with his booty shorts...you just knew this guy was going to put his all into the show that night. Im truly sorry for the lose of Jerry.

I saw Jerry play only twice. But my vision and idea of what a truly great drummer/musician is, has forever been altered. Amazing.

Gretchen,
I never knew your brother, but wanted to tell you and your family that I am so sorry for your loss. There is a saying that when a person comes into this world as a baby, they are crying, while the rest of us experience happiness for the newest addition. They say it is the same way when one leaves this world, while we all weep, Jerry is meeting His creator with happiness. May you be comforted by family and friends.

I had the pleasure of meeting and hanging with Jerry a couple of times when Maserati came through Austin. The last time in October 09, he was genuinely humble when I told him that my 4 year old knew his name and his work. He was curious when Fred Weaver told him that I was training for a marathon by listening to Maserati on shuffle and wanted to know which tracks were the coolest to run to. The marathon will be my first and is taking place in February - I'll have Jerry on my iPOD on shuffle and will dedicate my run to his memory.

I really don't know where to start...Jerry worked for me while he was in high school and he was quite a character...he often invited me to the somber reptile night club to see him perform...now i deeply regret i never made it...but i am very happy to know Jerry followed his dream!!! While he worked for me at chuck e cheese we developed a friendship i will never forget...While at chuck e cheese my district mgr insisted Jerry cut his dreadlocks and i will never forget his response... ( Vic,i will do it for you) Jerry you will always be remembered... R.I.P Jerry Fuchs
