Comments: I have memories of Childrens not only taking care of me when I was a youngster, but also my son, who will be 8 in December. When I was 16 I developed a life threatning kidney infection and Childrens brought me back to life and gave me a second chance. With my son, they have been there through the infant reflux, the toddler virus's, the asthma and allergies, the eye surgeries and everything in between. Everyone down there has always been so wonderful. I'll always be grateful that we have such a wonderful hospital so close to home. Im sure the new building will do many wonderful things for many people and continue to save and better our childrens lives
Comments: I remember taking my daughter down to the Childrens Hospital in Oakland when she was younger, she had to get a bean taken out of her nose, and a bead in her ear, it was nerve racking at the time, but now i just shake my head. Memories!
Comments: On August 14, 2006 our daughters had major surgery. Carissa was in Children's, her older sister Michelle was in Montifiore (?). Dr. George Mazarages, Dr. Kyle Soltys, Dr. Sindhi and to many to mention took 65% of Michelle's right lobe of her liver and transplanted it into her little sister Carissa's body. It made bile right away. If it wasn't for these wonderful Doctors and all the nurses on 7N I don't know where we would be right now. We were in Pittsburgh for 3 months after the surgery. Carissa had complications with ascites and fluid on her lungs. And these Docs and nurses were fantastic. Michelle Gallagher, Denise Grdnic, Kimmie Kaloz, Alice Maksim (who happens to be her coordinator now), Robin Wawro, Lindsey, Pam, Mary, and whomever I left out are like our family now. I also made friends with Denise Swinehart and Nick. They are like family to us also. You go above and beyond. And I want to thank each and every one of you from the Winder families hearts and my moms too. Because I don't know where we would be right now without you wonderful people.
