He was 75 years old.(this is according to a letter at the New Brunswich Archives belonging to Hannah Seymour Clark my great aunt. }Edward Seymour was both her parents grandfather as they were cousins.
Their names were Edward Seymour & Susan Sargeant.

My ancestor was James Logan born abt 1800-1810 died July 5 1842, married Susanna Moore born 1794 died 1846.
Their oldest son Henry, or his proper name may have been James Henry was born in Derry County near Londonderry according to a family bible. They also had a daughter Elizabeth and a son John who died in Hindu during the war. That is all the known children at this point. Son Henry came to Canada abt 1850.
Just wondering if there is anyone with any knowledge of this family.

I am trying for the last 12 years to find the names of the parents of my Great Great Grandfather, HUGH HALL COCHRAN  born 1805, who was a watchmaker in LURGAN ,Northern Ireland then later in Portadown, Northern Ireland. But still haven't got any closer

HUGH HALL COCHRAN married MARGARET BELSHAW.

I believe His father might have been EDWARD COCHRAN who was also a watchmaker in BELFAST, Northern Ireland.

I would dearly love to know who his mother was. Has anyone got any idea or does anyone in Ireland go into Libraries, etc who might do a look up for me.

Please help if you can ??

Regards,
Heather

I was born in Greenore co louth in october 1949. I lived with my family Bernard Michael Matthews , father, Mother Rosaleen Matthews. Rosh) Brothers Paddy, Brian, Peadar, sisters, Majella and Roshin. We lived at 29 Euston street before moving to Dundalk. Anyone with any information about my family please contact myself via e mail. I know that I have family living in and around Dundalk but like the good catholic family that they profess to be they cannot see their way to assist me in tracing back my family members. Something must have happened in the past to make them feel this way, nothing to do with me though. My mothers maiden name was Holland and they originally came from mayo. My grandfather on my mothers side was a Patrick Joseph Holland , and my grandfather on my fathers side was one william matthews, this is as much information as i have.

RE BRIEN, COOK/E, and RYAN, and DAWSON

I am researching my Irish roots and looking for information on Margaret Brien (the spelling could differ) born abt 1785.
The other names I am looking for are Catherine Ryan born 1816 in Golden, Tipperary and she married James Cook/e born 1813 of Golden, Tipperary.
Also, if anyone can shed some light on the Dawson family of Tipperary that would be great. My great grandfather James Dawson emigrated to Australia with some of his siblings in abt 1866/67.
Look forward to any help.

I would like to locate entries for James Brien of Cooke Lane, Waterford, born 1887, and his wife, Margaret Brien, formerly Sheehan, born in 1904. They had four children, Margaret, Mary, Stacia and Michael. Margaret was born 1st March 1924 in Waterford. The children attended the Catholic school in Barrack Street, Waterford. There may be a discrepancy in the name Brien, as it appears it is sometime listed as O'Brien. (JUST TO MAKE LIFE EASIER). Thank you so much, kind regards, Phil Towe.

Hi,
My family and I are working on our genealogy.  We have been searching for Patrick Byrne and have not had any luck.  We believe he was born around 1810/11 and came to the United States from southern Ireland.  We do know that he was married in New York City, USA, in 1834 to Anne Marie Schuyler (many different spellings to her name).  Later in 1837, they moved to Igerna town of Chester, NY.  They had many children and they owned  land in the Adirondacks.  We still have most of the land in our family, because our heritage is very important to us.  We'd appreciate any help you can offer.  Thank you very much.

Also looking for burial place of my maternal great grandparents, Thomas Kenny (b abt 1825/1830) in Co. Wicklow.  Married to a Bridget Doyle Kenny (b Oct 27, 1831) in Baltinglass either Co. I am searching for info on a Lemon/Lemmon family in the Killinchy area. Specifically looking for John Lemon born about 1785. He married an Elizabeth (Maiden name unknown) in Ireland. They had at least two children born in Ireland, Elizabeth Lemon/Lemmon born about 1829 and Mariah Lemon/Lemmon born about 1832. They emmigrated to Chipman, New Brunswick, Canada between 1832 & 1837. They had several other children in Canada.

Records have been found from a Presbyterian church in Killinchy that indicates they may have married and lived in that area prior to leaving for Canada.
If anybody has info that they think may be helpful it would be greatly appreciated.

hi
As a novice to Family Trees i have to say I'm enjoying the research and the site , the hours that must have gone into this site is mind boggling !! I have just started trying to trace the family tree of my father-in-law Anthony Brophy, originally Carlow but now Dublin ,who is now 80yrs old. This being very new to me I have come up against a few walls. Firstly his father is James Brophy Carlow born1884 died1977, married 1912 to Mary Josephine Fitzpatrick Carlow born1897 died1967. The problem is James was Adopted and place of birth is stated as the Workhouse. His Birth Certificate states his mother Mary Anne Brophy came from Kilkenny. I found four possiblities as we are not sure of her birth date 1865/1870?? One possibility is a Mary Anne Brophy who was a Housekeeper for PP John Beauchamp, Lower Borris 1901 census. We think James was adopted by Thomas and Margaret Browne from Mill Street Tullow ,, They also had 3 other Adopted Children that we know of . If someone could advise me how to find the Workhouse or Adoption Records im sure i could carry on the search .. or even let me know if its possible to search them files ??? Any advice as where to go next ??? Thanks
Tricia Brophy

Hi
My name is nerida from Melbourne Australia and I am researching my great great great grandfather Michael Giblin who was sent to Australia around 1850 from Roscommon. About a year or so ago I found some fantastic trial records that show that there were two Michael Giblins; the address was
http://www.igp-web.com/roscommon/criminal/transportation/htm

Now I can't seem to find it ! I have now taken a photo of Michael's grave and have his details and I really wanted to compare them to the two michaels in the trial records to see if we have the right one.
Can anyone tell me where I can view these records again?
Thanks in advance

My ancestor John FLOWER, was stationed in Ireland between 1818 and 1828 while a trooper in the 2nd Dragoon Guards.  I know he married Brigette but not where - it could be France (follow-up to the Battle of Waterloo) or in Ireland.  They had a child, Catherine between 1818 and 1821 but I don't know where she was born as the regiment is listed as being at 'various stations' in the south and east of Ireland as well as Dublin.  Any records of the marriage and birth would be most welcome.  This would help to indicate whether I have an Irish ancestor

I'm hoping someone may be able to help with my ELLIOTT family in Tannaghmore South, Armagh in the 19C.   I have found Richard ELLIOTT and his wife Elizabeth in Shankill Parish Armagh on the Griffiths and I feel these are my gg grandparents who had a daughter Mary Ann about 1848 in Armagh, as shown on Mary Ann's marriage record in Australia in 1873 to Alexander Stuart.
The problem I have is that Mary Ann, my ggrandmother has stated that her parent's names were Richard ELLIOTT and Mary COWBRAY or CARBERY various spelling, of Armagh but the only Richard in Armagh is the Richard with Elizabeth at Tannaghmore South.    Could Mary Ann and Elizabeth be one and the same?  I have found a Will for a Richard in 1885 in Armagh, stating his wife's name as Mary and that he had been a farmer.
Thank you for any thoughts on Elizabeth and Mary Elliott, are they one and the same?

Boland is my maiden name and my great grandfather was James Boland and my great grandmother was Mary (Doran) Boland. They were Catholic. They emigrated Ireland from Carrick-on-Suir, County Tipperary, in either 1842 or 1847 (depending if a 7 was mistaken for a 2). I have traced them to New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1847.  I have not found a ship's list with their names.  They had a small son, Thomas, and a small son, William, and possibly a daughter Margaret, born in Ireland.  I would like to find out if my great grandfather had siblings who also came to the U.S.

Regarding my Grandparents
My family came to Canada in the 10's and 20's, but i am having a tough time tracing them back to Ireland I hope someone may have some information regarding their family's for me.My grandfather came to Walepole Saskatchewan, sometime before July 1923,because i can find his brothers passenger list stating that George Frazer came to Canada with his wife Lottie Frazer. (George states his contact in Ireland is Brother William James Frazer and i this it says William James Frazer is from drumnarullagh Hub co Fermanagh). he brought his wife Lottie who's father was Wm Geo Martin (???Mullagh more) Fermanagh. The next year my grandma followed Mary Ann Martin (Lottie's sister). they all indicate they are going to Walepole Saskatchewan to be farm with Alex Frazer (my Grandfather)  Mary and Lottie left family behind that they continued to contact until their deaths, but no one has record of who they contacted. and I have no information on the the Frazer boys.
With 2 brothers marrying 2 sisters and both leaving family behind i hope someone can give me a break on this
Thank Geri

I have been researching my family tree for quite awhile and am trying to find where in Ireland my irish ancestors are from. There is some confusion as to whether it is Cork or Kerry. My great great grandmother was Margaret O'Connell Corbett. She was the daughter of Hellen or Ellen Shea and Denis O'Connell. She came over to the USA via Castle Garden, New York in 1870. Was born in 1867 in Ireland. So being a child I would think that she would have come over to the US with her parents but can't seem to locate them on any ship records. I have been unable to locate any birth, marriage or death records for Helen or Ellen Shea which I believe were Catholic as Margaret was Catholic and is buried in a Catholic cemetery in Ware, Massachusetts. Her parents were definitely born and married in Ireland and if I could find out exactly where, I would make huge progress. Margaret married a Patrick J Cobett in New York . He had come over in 1876 from Ireland and was the son of James J. Corbett and Ellen Margot. I can't find anything on either side.

I am wondering if anyone can help me find who were the parents of HUGH HALL COCHRAN(E) from Armagh ?

Hugh was born about 1805, and became a watchmaker in Lurgan. He married a Margaret BELSHAW, and had quite a few children.

Also I would love to hear from anyone who is related even distantly to this side of the COCHRAN(E) family.

I have been led to believe that an EDWARD COCHRAN(E) who was a watchmaker and went into partnership with a ROBERT SHAW might have been HUGH HALL COCHRAN(E)'S father, could anyone confirm this for me.

Please get back to me.

I have been researching my ancestors for many years and was delighted to find this site now contains many, many more details and pictures of headstones in Co. Wicklow.    I have found a photo of my own parents' grave at Kilternan C of I, and also  a photo of my great grandfather's, George Abraham Heatley, at St Patrick's C of I, Enniskerry.   I have mine own photos of most of the Heatleys buried there.  His father, George Abraham Heatley also, is buried in the private graveyard on the Powerscourt Estate.   We have details of the wording but obviously no photo as it is a private graveyard.   We also have our own photo of his father, John Emerson Heatly's grave (note original spelling) buried at Derralossary C of I.   I see you have Heatly photos from there but not of the above.
What I am trying to discover is who was the father of this John Emerson Heatly and how the name Emerson came into the family.
The story is he is descended from a Capt Abraham Heatly who was granted lands in Co. Wicklow for fighting in the Battle of the Boyne.   We cannot prove this.   If anyone can help on this matter, please get in touch as I have spent many, many years trying to link up this story with John Emerson Heatly.    Another descendant of this Capt Heatley married into the Montgomery family and most descendants now live in Australia.    I can give anyone needing it the name of their website.   Joyce Trueman

Thank you very much for all the hard work that you have done on the Ireland genealogy project. Please pass on my thanks to George Armstrong who has transcribed the Turbid Church records. These are the records that I am most interested in. I was able to find what I think is my 4x great grandparents marriage record thanks to the work done by George, yourself and other volunteers. I was also able to find another possible daughter for this couple Arthur and Charlotte McEldowney. I knew of only the 5 children that were in Canada. Unfortunately I was not able to find the 5 children listed in the Turbid records. Maybe they were living elsewhere when they were born or baptized.

Thanks again for all your great work. I was very excited and happy when I found the marriage and birth records of this family. I have known they came from Northern Ireland somewhere and suspected Tyrone and this confirms it.
