Hi, I live in Alicante Spain and have found a pigeon on my land. It's very friendly and I have been feeding it for 5 days. I thought it must be tired and would fly away when it had rested. It's not hurt and it can fly. I don't know anything about birds and need to find the owner. the ring no. is : AG908149. There are some letters at the end of the no. which are REFC. I was very glad to find this web-site and have logged the no. on the site.
If anyone has any idea which country this pigeon is from or any advice for me I would be very grateful.
Grateful thanks . Michelle

Hi my name's Sally, i'd been feeding a racing pigeon which had lost it's way home for about 8wks, then the pigeon hert it's wing, so i took it to the vet's, they rang the owner's and the owner's decided it would be kinder to put the bird down, but i became very fond of the pigeon as it would wait for daily to be fed, i did ask the vet's to ring me if the owner's didn't wont the pigeon, which they did and i picked it up.i put the pigeon in a dog cage and let it rest and as the week's went by she got stronger and i helped her fly again,i then got her a friend a 9yr old pigeon i payed 15 pound for him and 15 pound for petrol for delivery, but they didn't get on then a friend of mine's husband came and had a look who himself is a pigeon fancyer and told  me they are both male's, anyway to cut a long story short i now have a make shift loft for the guy's and i've been letting them out everday for about 6wks, and im very keen on racing pigeon's now iv'e became a big lover of them, so just asking for advice off anyone, and also if anyone has any second hand eqiupment for sale just to start me off i'd be greatful

Many thanks Sally

I have in my garden a bird with the ring number GB 09 D35058 or very similar.
As I haven't captured it I haven't reported it formally but I thought that someone might wish to know that the bird is well and feeding but doesn't seemed inclined to fly.

Jim.

I never have liked pigeons have always thought of them as messy creatures.I have found one in my garden and have taken hi/her under my wings. The pigeon is very clean with a lovely pink patch on its chest/belly.It was very tierd when it flew into my garden 24hrs ago.I have given the pigeon some water and bread and have completed online form on this site with the number from its tag and am awaiting a reply for someone to collect it.The pigeon is now safely in an old rabbits hutch.I found this site to be very useful and im now very fond of racing pigeons and am looking up more information about them as it is quite fasinating.Im going to take a photo to keep of our pigeon as it is quite cute.

I think this website is verey good for alot of people that don't have anything to do with pigeon's,it helps them when they find or if a pigeon comes on their propety so they no how to get the bird back to the owner or to look after the bird if they carn't find the owner and they'ed like to keep the bird for themselves,it could even bring more people into the sport. It's been good browsing.

We found an exhausted racing pigeon in our garden a week ago. After an hour or so, it was obviously going nowhere, so to protect it from the local pigeon eating cats, we gave it water and shelter. I took its number and reported it as a stray, and was given the owners name. On contacting him, he asked me to let it go, and it should find its way home. We have released it every day for 4 days now, (ever increasing distances!) and it keeps coming back to us. Have rung the owner but he doesnt seem at all bothered about it, and I cant keep it indefinitely. Any ideas would be most welcome!
