This website, gave me happiness, nostalgia, and a great appreciation for what some people call, "grown folks" music. I just wanted to say I've really liked your website ever since I found it, Kind of a  while ago, maybe a year or two... or three?

Anyways, I hadn't been online in a while, but I was trying to find a decent version of Mama Cass's Dream a Little Dream of Me. I searched long and hard, but I didn't find anything very good, not even on myspace !

Your site was a great way to preserve old music, and I think it's one avenue of presenting that music to people of my age group, most of whom are into the filth that is "rap" and "hip-hop".  As of this writing, I logged onto your site and read your message. I'm no champion of illegal downloading, but I'd like to know what exactly is illegal about a guy who actually purchases CDs of this stuff and streams it online for others to listen to without making a dime off of his efforts? You don't encourage anybody to burn any of this stuff, but to actually go out and buy it for it's ridiculously $12-$14 price range, so what's the problem? I like songs like the ones you had on your site, which was an easy way to access and listen to those songs.

I am a 21 year old male and I told a couple people about this site. You know you dont find many kids my age that like to listen to oldies music. I just love oldies music it is a lot better than this hip hop crap that the kids are listening to. I was raised on this kind of music. I hope that this website comes back to us real soon because I really miss the music.

I think its awful that this is happening to you. You purchased all the music with your hard earned money, like many if us do, and spent countless hours working on your website to share your love of music with other people. In my opinion you have helped alot of artist sell their music, to people who stopped by your site and then went out and purchased a CD after hearing a tune, that they may have forgotten the name of, or just forgotten who the singer was., i have done that several times after visiting your site myself.  My only suggestion would be, maybe try to work out something with a music company to endorse your site, and hang in there, my prayers are with you. I certainly appreciate all that you have done.  I was thrilled when I found the web site.  It was absolutely wonderful!  I would love the list of songs and authors just for reference use.  The audio puts a whole different use to it though.  I came across old songs that I had hunted for but could not remember the name or author so I was out of luck until hearing it played.  In that respect even a short clip would be better than nothing.  I know that it changes the whole reason for the formation of the site, but temporarily it would be much better than nothing and all of your efforts so far would not be a total waste.  You asked about people hearing songs and buying.  Well, I found some songs on the site that did lead me to the advertisers that you had in order to purchase them.  Not one song that I have wanted to buy has been available from any of the sources in single or album.  It is certainly a great loss of fantastic music.  Thanks for the memories.  Paul

Dear Gerri, I was the third person to comment on that fatefull day, Feb. 3, 07, After you announced you had to cease playing this great music. I used the word "horrible" and it sure was, what they did to you and all of us. In surfing the web I have found a few other sites that ARE playing the original oldies like you were, BUT these sites are nowhere as good as yours was. Question, how com they are "still on the air" sort to speak. Why haven't they been shut down, why did the powers that be, just pick on you? Its just not fair. If you do not know these sites I am reffering to, I will send their addresses to you.  Any way, take care and God bless.    P.S. DO NOT consider limiting each song to 60 seconds, their must be other ways around the problem.

What if you changed the web site to play the songs like a radio station...i.e. if you choose the W's...they would play either in order or random and the visitor could advance to the next song.  A little work from a web designer would make a change to a "radio station" quite simple.  I would also get funding from banner ads...with all your hits, it could fund the whole thing!

Love your site and will miss it if it doesn't return!

I registered in your guest book last  year while stationed in Iraq...Most of us were Guardsmen or real young, so the Old Salts would introduce the Young'uns to the World Before MTV, admittedly it was a rough road to hoe, but they learned a lot about the origin of music. We Old Salts just enjoyed the purity of it, and yes...since I have been home we have purchased music from my younger years...it reminds me of the goodness and innocence we all once shared, I am a warrior and am at your disposal, see the enclosed donation. I loved you web site and enjoyed your personal comments about the songs that meant something to you. I viewed you site like a radio station. Just put it on to listen, didn't copy anything. I even did buy a couple of CDs after discovering certain songs from you. I believe  I purchased Gary Pucket's greatest Hits, Barry Manilow's Greatest Hits and a complitation of hits from the 60s and 70s. There's a few more but I don't have my CD collection in front of me. Sorry to see things change. It's a shame because you had a lot of good songs that I couldn't find on CD because they're our of print. Your place was the only place I could hear them. Can't think of any titles off the bat but... Thanks for the memories and for keeping the music alive.

My son and I enjoyed your site immensly. The record companies are not going to get any money from me since my time of buying records, CD's, etc has passed in favor of more pressing concerns. I discovered this website last year and I really enjoy all the music - including all the children's songs. I was born in 1985 and much prefer 60's, 70's, 80's and early 90's music to anything from today's stuff. I was really overjoyed to find this website, because it meant I didn't have to rake out all my Mam's vinyls and the records in order to listen to some of the best ever music and I'm really upset that the songs have been taken off temporarily.

However, I've recently bought 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' by Simon and Garfunkel and The Beatles 'Love' Album. I've seen a few other CDs too, but being a student, it's a bit difficult and not all of the best songs (that have been on this website) are available. I'm looking forward to seeing the site back up and running. *crosses fingers*

I remember that I listened to these oldies songs 40 years ago- just to appreciate their beautiful melodies because I can understand little English/American language .

Forgot all of them until I found your site, but so sad  they are gone now-hopefully only temporary.

By putting some ads banners (yes -those from music industry and that relate) on your site I think it can help you back on the track again.

My opinion is that any piece of music or song should have copyright lifespan of no more than that of invention patents-then after expiring they are properties of all humandkind.

I am really kind of fed up with the big bucks music industry putting the squeeze on everyone. This site was a joy to my brother, me, and our 78 year old parents, and now we aren't even allowed to have this. Some grabby billionaire music industry exec and/or artist had to ruin it. I hope they are proud of themselves.

If the industry is so greedy that they even have to come after something like this, it makes me not ever want to buy another CD as a matter of principle. I will not reward that behavior with my money.

Everything is all about money, it seems. These jerks could take a huge page from one of our era's most successful bands, The Grateful Dead; who encouraged people to come, photograph, record and spread the word of their music to everyone. That policy sure didn't hurt them, did it?

And you had the right idea too; share the music, spread the joy. For free; and if people want more, they can always find it and buy it. Heck, I think you should charge the music industry for the free advertising! Maybe the greedy jerks might decide to let you leave it as it was, and put up links on a links page so people can go buy more music if they want.

I'll miss the songs, and this is yet another disappointment brought about by greedy big business. Shame on them. And God bless YOU!

I loved your wide variety of music on this site. Children's music, classical music, tv commercials and program theme songs etc, as well as those great oldies but goodies of the 50s through the 70s! I am sorry it all had to end, but maybe my suggestion of short clips instead of the entire song will entice people who want the whole song to go out and buy the albums with the song on them! Maybe that will keep the fat cats happy, but you never know. I hope you can make a comeback real soon! Thanks for all those great memories!

It's a consideration but I doubt that everyone would be satisfied with a partial playback whether it be a small piece or a significant piece of the song. I'll have to include that question in future guestbook entries. I'll also have to see if that would make it more palatable to the industry.

This is in my opinion, the "BEST DAMN OLDIES WEBSITE" on the internet & it's FREE!!!! (let me re-phrase that, it WAS free until some jerks had to come in and spoil everything).  I have to agree with some of the other listeners, you won't hear the majority of these songs on ANY oldies radio station, just on "TerrificMusic.com".  I will continue to keep you in my prayers and hope to see "TerrificMusic.com" back up and running in no time.  I really miss the great music.
