I don't know if anyone else had a problem getting into this page but I am glad it is back.  Thanks Mike.

Susan Boyle is going to be in concert for half an hour on Monday morning on the Today Show.  I am going to try and get her CD "I Dream the Dream".

Love all the nostalgic music. I well remember those old music hall songs.   In those days they had real words and real melodies.  I feel quite sorry for today's youngsters, what musical memories will they have?
I found a lovely bit about Salford at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOB8Yq1Uc_0

especially for anyone who remembers Whit walks, there are some adorable little people at the end.

That's the Salford I remember .

Rose, that's St Peter's Church on the High Street, the Legh Arms pub and the bus station is at the back of it.  The Viaduct is the Nine Arches at the bottom of Common Brew in Earlestown and was built by Stephenson.  I spent many a day in those two areas!

That was a lovely video.  Enjoyed it very much r"Eric.

Ron Coupe,  I purchased the book by Harry Bernstein from Amazon and it came very quickly and quite reasonable.  Got John hooked so I ordered the Dream from the Harris County library.

Mike, best wishes for your recovery.  Himself has had four knees done (right, like a donkey), two partials then two full replacements, and although he is much older than you, bounced back each time in a couple of months.  Mind you, it didn't grow his hair back.   And now when he dances, it is mostly with his shoulders and elbows.  Ever seen that?     Also he tends to fall off ladders.  And swears more.   And has put on about 40 lbs.
But at least his knees are fine.

Feel better now?

I have just read this tragic story...the numbers are staggering. I remember some time ago when we discussed on the Page about the Irish fiasco with little children sent to the different orphanages, and never finding out who their mothers were...
These pictures make you weep.

Maura, the light show in Pearland was just about  half a mile from here in Green Tee neighbourhood.  In fact our development is called Bella Vita at Green Tee.  They still have a display every year and the police have to direct traffic.

Mike I hope you are up and around soon.
