City:, State:, Zip: Vista, CA Comments:  Hi everyone! Dennis and I have been keeping extremely busy and are both guilty of not coming here more often. Susan, thank you for your kind compliments on my photos...I enjoy documenting events with photography as I feel pictures sometime speak louder than words. We have a lot going on this year and our calendar is nearly completely filled. We just had Dennis' granddaughter here for a 10 day visit and really enjoyed taking her camping, to Disneyland and to the Wild Animal Park. We also took her and her friend to see The Glory of Easter at the Crystal Cathedral and highly recommend the production to everyone. Of course, you'd have to wait until next year for the Easter performance, but you can plan to go to The Christmas Production which is even more spectacular. We are hoping in June to have my 14 year old grandson visit us from Georgia. It would be his first trip here and we'd make it especially special for him. It really is hard having grand kids and kids, for that matter, living so far away. This summer we have many things planned...we're going on a motorhome trip up to Santa Barbara with another couple we know who also have a motorhome; looking forward to that! Also, I want to take this time to ask everyone living local or visiting Southern California to pencil in September 19th (Saturday) to attend the 30th annual "Wavecrest" Woodie Car Show located in Encinitas at Moonlight Beach. It's the largest gathering of wooden bodied cars in the world and our Woodie will be one of them. There are expected to be over 300 Woodies there and the best thing is it's free! It's a great day with lots of sunshine, music and just plain fun at the beach. Please come!! Our Woodie is a fully restored 1941 Ford, Super Deluxe, Tan with dark brown top (just look for the prettiest one there LOL) that Dennis has owned since 1976. Wow!!! What stunning photos! What an absolutely gorgeous home! The food on that table sure looked yummy, too. Johnnie and Dennis, you two have a knack for organizing details and making what would be ordinary photos for the rest of us... BEAUTIFUL. I love looking at all your photo journals. I have been recovering from surgery and subsequently the shingles (ugh!) since January. I'm in my 5th week of shingles and I'm not liking it one bit. The pain is hideous. I would rather have had another surgery instead. This is why I am awake at 3AM. I know...this, too shall pass. I have nothing interesting or fun to talk about. City:, State:, Zip: Vista, CA Comments: Yesterday, 12/13/08, Saturday, we former Narbonne Alumni, wife Johnnie, S'68, my Sister, Janice S'70, her husband Steve Mitchell, S'69 attended the LA City High School football championship playoff game held at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. As we were entering we saw Wayne Kiyokane W'68 who also attended the game. Narbonne, 12-1 record, the Marine League Champions, were going against San Pedro 12-1, for the LA City Championship. The game was well played and ultimately ended by San Pedro's last second touchdown pass (and PAT) to tie the game at 21-21. As there is no overtime they both share as co-champions. Narbonne players and fans were stunned at the "loss" while San Pedro celebrated the "victory". It was a great game and all have much to be proud of. I recall 40 years ago we were happy to just win a few games each season with the powerhouse schools of Carson and Banning always winning the championships every year. It is just like a yearbook except we're all old, not that there's anything wrong with that. Shortly after high school I lost all my Fleming and Narbonne yearbooks. It made me very sad that I had nothing but a few photos and senior pictures to remember my teenage years. Now, I have a yearbook with not only all the photos from the reunion, but each and every senior picture...the way we were. Looking at all the reunion photos brought that very special evening to life once again. Every time I open the book I am transported to that Grand Reunion and that's a good thing. After returning to my everyday life, that night had a Cinderella-like quality to it. You know? I simply can't thank Dennis enough for going above and beyond everyone's expectations. I realized by the end of the evening that I hadn't even spoken to everyone that I wanted to. The Mexican Riviera cruise was terrific in so many ways...loved spending time with former classmates - Dennis and Dianna Webb (their son, Jason) and some of his friends, Dennis' two sisters, Bonnie and Joyce. Also, Don Griffon (what a great tour guide for us at the Mexican ports!), Nancy (Stockinger) Geunter, her husband, Steve and their son, Jeff...Donna (Wilson) and husband, Greg, Johnnie (Pack) and Dennis. My husband, Jay, and I live in the Atlanta area and will be celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary this Wednesday (April 30). I have two grown sons, Chris and Will, who are 25 and 23, both single and live in the Atlanta area. I also have two stepdaughters who live in NC and a stepson and his family in MI. (I'm a grandmother of four adorable grandsons, ages 3-10). I've been an Administrative Assistant for over 30 years and sing in a ladies barbershop chorus. It looks like everyone had a wonderful time. I have been living in Arkansas 10 years this June, and love it. I have been working in the loan department of a bank for almost 10 years. My daughter, son-in-law, granddaughter (17) and 2 grandsons (10 & 9) live just across the Mississippi River in Tennessee, about a 40 minute drive from me, so I get to see them quite often. My granddaughter, who on her 17th birthday last November, signed up for the Army Reserves, and after graduating with honors this May, will be going to boot camp in South Carolina, then on to AIS training in Georgia. She then will start college. Right now, just trying to decide where she wants to go. My mother lives up on Bull Shoals lake in the Ozarks, which is about 3 1/2 hours from here. I lost my dad to cancer in 2001, and just last week had to put my 20 year old cat to sleep. Which is a long time to have a "best friend pet"! IT WAS GREAT TO SEE EVERYONE AT THE REUNION. I OF COURSE WISH THAT MORE W68 HAD BEEN ABLE TO ATTEND, BUT I SURE ENJOYED SEEING EVERYONE THAT ATTENDED. BOTH JOHNNIE AND I HAD A GREAT TIME AT THE REUNION AS WELL AS OUR WEEK FLOATING IN THE PACIFIC OCEAN ON THE CARNIVAL PRIDE HOTEL. THE CRUISE AND ALL THAT IT OFFERED WAS A WONDERFUL WAY TO ENJOY THE TIME TOGETHER. YOU MISSED A GREAT OPPORTUNITY. THANKS TO DENNIS WEBB FOR ALL OF HIS EFFORT IN PUTTING THIS DOUBLE EVENT TOGETHER AS WELL AS THE WEB SITE.
