Comments: Dear Art, Thank you for the blessings through your voice and life that you have give all of us. That said, from one New York boy to another, think you could put a Seattle Concert date on the calender for 2009? God Bless, The Miglino Family
Comments: Mr. Garfunkel what a joy it has been to listen to you sing, and touch so many emotions.
Comments: Thank you for all your beautiful music. I performed "Marionette" as an air-band in elementary school (was born in 1971). I've introduced Watermark to all the folks in my life. Your lyrics, and melodies, are crushing. I know in this era of "virtual killing", people are de-sensitized to the human condition. Your writing, harmonies and incredible voice touch the soul. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Comments: Hello Art, To me, one of the greatest musical masterpiece albums of all time, nothing less than a tour de force, has been "Angel Clare", and for singles, "I Only Have Eyes For You", THE best version of the song by anyone, hands down! Thank you for that gorgeous voice that sends shivers up my spine every time I hear another fabulous masterpiece of yours and Paul's, The Boxer". The voice we're talking about must be of the Angel in "Angel Clare". I grew up listening to you on the Voice of America in the 60s, way out in southern India where very few "Western" pop artists reached, and where the British musical influence overpowered American music. I was mesmerized by "Sounds of Silence" and "Mrs. Robinson". The rest is history that you, Art, and Roy Halee so kindly and generously gave us!! Harry http://harry.cckerala.com
Comments: Hi Art looking forward to seeing you at london festival hall concert, any chance of including jimmy webb's 'she moves and eyes follow' or 'skywriter' in the set. Thankyou for all of your interpretations of jimmy's music over the years and for getting the Animals Christmas c.d. out, my vinyl l.p. was on its last legs love Brian Hicks
Comments: Art, I highly doubt you remember me, since I was a small boy when you met me, but you stayed with my Aunt Krista in Paw Paw, WV during your walk through the area. I want you to know that meeting you at such a young age really influenced me to become a musician myself. I don't know if you read these personally, but if you do, I'd like you to know that a chance meeting with you had a great impact on someone's life. Playing and writing has become a big part of who I am as a person and it all started that evening when I heard you for the first time. Thank you, VInce Kidwell
Comments: How can one live on while knowing to be the father of such a gorgeous son? James Garfunkel - or: what is wrong with the world today.
Comments: Dear Art, I want to express my appreciation for your extraordinary part in singing Bride over Troubled Waters. This is one of my favorite songs. Having been through some rough times, the song is very comforting, almost as it is from the Lord himself. You and Paul Simon are gifts from God to the world. Sincerely, Carolyn Lintner
Comments: Art, Thank you for your music, the sound of your voice has been so comforting in these difficult times following the passing of my precious sister. I am truly 'Grateful'. Steve [View Entry] [View Entry] [View Entry]

Comments: I am a big fan of Bridge Over Troubled Water and you can really sing. No one can sing as good as you. Thanks for the great song, Lance
Comments: Dear Mr. Garfunkel, You've been part of my life for a long time now and you're not about to leave me ! What a joy it would be, for me as well as for many other inconditional fans leaving in French Québec, to be enchanted by your voice and presence...live in our beautiful city ! Maybe some day, you'll come in Québec City for a musical happening and you'll make me, the most happy woman in town ! Thank you Mr. Garfunkel.. Lucie Fourcaudot [View Entry] [View Entry] [View Entry]
Comments: Arty, What can I say, I'm sure you were designed by the Father God to sing like an angel. Got to say Ive tried to emulate those notes but just cant hit the top ones. Wish you and Paul would do another album it would be a smash around this globe (I mean all the other bands are doing reforms) Ive always thought you should cover Pie Jesus and nail it, so to speak. You are an inspiration Art. God Bless you Sir. Take Care Rob

Comments: Dear Mr. Art Garfunkel. "We met" for the first time in Denmark 03-07, and now I am so lucky, that I will hear you again in Denmark in October this year. You can be sure, I will be there. I have been listening to your voice all my life and nothing compares........ Love from a big fan of your talent. [View Entry]
Comments: Art, you were blessed with a beautiful voice. I always bought all the albums -- the S & G ones and the single artist ones. Loved the concert in the park. I am 55 now, and still a fan. Thanks. [View Entry]
Comments: Please come to Toronto again! I was at your February 2006 concert at Massey Hall, probably the best venue in Toronto. It was a wonderfully intimate concert. My daughter and I still talk about it.
Comments: I'm sorry that I can't think of words strong enough to impress upon you how much your work means to me. I first discovered your music by accident when I was 9 years old. For over a decade, I had no idea who the artist was, nor did I know the name of the song I had heard, but the melody was constantly with me. When I finally heard the song again, I burst into tears. I didn't think I would ever find you. The song was the Sounds of Silence, and though I know you didn't write the lyrics, it was your voice that captivated me. From that moment, I have been a devoted admirer of your work. Thank you.
Comments: The only solo album of yours, AG, that I have owned and have greatly appreciated, is "Watermark". My favorite song is "It's Someone Else," due in large part to the harmonies, and, because it is essentially true in most cases. So few relationships last. Although I earned a BA in Literature, wrote for numerous newspapers, and sell books online, I haven't begun to reach the number of books that you've read. I have noticed several books on your list that I did read. My largest personal collection contains classic literature, then war and the Holocaust, health, biographies and histories. I wish you the best as you sing, walk and write your way into our lives. Dave

Comments: Dear Mr Garfunkel, I´m 48 years old and I had to admit that you - trough my life - have´t been my biggest fan although I appreciated you more when you went solo. I remember how I loved hearing you sing "Bright eyes". So now by a coincidense many years later I was listen to the radio at work here in Sweden when they had a quizshow and I was paralized when I heard you singing. I couldn´t work. I just had to wait to hear what the name of the cd was. The name was "Some enchanted evening". What an extraordinary cd that is. It gives me goosebumbs everytime I listen to it and I have never before owned a cd that every track was best one. Me and my 10 year old daugther love it. So my request to you is PLEASE make another cd of old Evergreens. I´m begging you. Are you going to visit Gothenburg and promote this cd? Please answer Sincerely Lennart Mårtensson, Gothenburg
Comments: The first time i heard your voice is when you sang the song "April comes she will" in a VHS tape that i rented back in 1988. Since then i was your die hard fan. now am 35 yrs old, and i still kept your " Concert in Central Park" with your singing partner Paul Simon. Your voice is so enchanting that I almost have to keep myself up tune with your songs. I have two kids in their tender ages. The eldest, a boy of 1 yr. & 9 months, and the youngest, a girl of 2 months. I sang your songs to them than singing lullabies. In the future, I will let them know your songs and have them feel it too. By the way, am Orven from the Philippines. I wanted to be a lawyer, but i wasn't given the chance to pass the bar exam. Anyway am not losing hope. There's always another time for a next time. Just like my hope that someday, i got to see you in person and chat together in a country music bar sipping our coffees. Hope you could visit Manila. If ever, you would have the feel of going to the Philippines, just give me a ring on my cel no. 09215546666. Stay healthy always. Thank you for bringing colors to the world in you own simple ways. Please say hi to Simon for me. Truly yours, Vhen
Comments: I would really love to see, just one more time, you and Paul Simon in concert done on television so that many will have the opportunity to see it.
Comments: Dear Mr. Art Garfunkel, Thank you so much for sharing your tremendous singing talent and not hiding it under a bushel, as the saying goes. I've listened to your music since my mother bought your album in the 1960's. I'd have to say that I'm a huge fan of yours; however, now there is a competitor. I just read your Wikipedia entry and apparently your brother had a hand in the development of COBOL. Lord knows, I enjoyed many a lucrative year plying that trade: COBOL programming/analysis--writer's cramp! I even re-emerged from years of my maternity leave as a nifty Y2K tester, yes, thank God for COBOL once again for resuscitating my career and re-launching a 'baby mama'. The self-documenting feature really increased its longevity. Cheers to you and your great family! Lynn
Comments: hi Mr Garfunkel, I'm African and just twenty one and I'm addicted to your music. I love it. |
