Comments: It is good to see more individuals logging onto the site keep up the great work you do Tom.
General information: As of August 2009 the minimum number of members to have in a post is 35. National has sent us an e-mail on three of our post that are less then 35. My out look on this is if each of the three post can reach 25 members which was the requirement when they were created. We the Department of Maine will fight to keep them open, however if they do not jump at this opportunity then we hope they will consolidate with another post in their respective District and not just disappear and end up with their members in the at large list.
Congratulations to Post 3108 Belfast for reaching their 75th year as a Chartered Post.

Comments: To all of our Comrades in the Department of Maine, let us make our State Commander Alfred E. Michaud a 100% All American Commander for the Year 2009-10. This would be a great honor not only for our Commander and the Department but also the National organization. Remember that it is only thru the high membership that our Commander-in-Chief Thomas J. Tradewell can go to Washington D.C. and make sure that our Comrades do not lose their benefits that they all so gracefully earned while serving this great country of our, The United States of America.
To our Website Master, again and as always, a great job by Tom, our website truly depicts the Department of Maine and all of its members.

Hi, I am a mother of a United States Marine. He is 21 years old and just got back from his first tour in Iraq. He called me as soon as he was back in Twenty-nine Palms CA., just to let me know how wonderful it was to walk into the MAINE airport and have everyone cheering for them. He said that is was very unexpected but an overwhelming feeling of appreciation. This was the first thing he told me before he went on with other subjects so I know that this make a great impression on his heart. He spoke of how unappreciated the older vets were when they came back from their tours and how he had great respect for them all because of not only what they had to endue during their tour of duty, but for what they had to endure when the returned home. May I say God Bless to all of you and Thank You, for your duty, your support for our military not only past but here in the present. As a mother of a son in the military, I have to say that there is not greater feeling of pride, for the unselfish act of choice to serve our country from all of our military family. Grateful, Judy Harman
