Dave,

As president of the Paw Paw Village Players (Paw Paw, Mi) and personal friend of Andy Baker (semi-World Famous Singer/Songwriter and veterinarian) I would like to hereby, FORMALLY endorse Dave Potts as honorary "Director of Humor Relations" for Paw Paw, Michigan!  (I can FEEL your excitement!  Hell, the job pays nearly as much as President of the Village Players!)
LOVED your show at our playhouse back in October and can't wait to see you in concert again.  I made dozens of illegal copies of your CD, "12.99" and gave them away instead of candy at Halloween!  (Just kidding, in my neighborhood it's chocolate or dead raccoons in your mailbox!)  Honestly though, my wife loves your CD and so do I.  I'm off to your "music page" to order some more.
Stay warm, stay funny and come visit again soon!

I came upon your name when "googling" David Potts who had called about my condo here on Lake Martin.  Don't know if you are one and the same but I'm sure glad I now know about you.  I am getting ready to order every single one of your cd's for myself and plan to give your cd's as Christmas gifts to friends and family.  I think you should book yourself at Harbor Point Marina and Living Waters outdoor church this coming summer, both inside Stillwaters Resort in Dadeville, Al.  It would be great exposure!!  Best of luck and God Bless.

Not long ago while listening my favorite radio station, XM 15, I heard your song, "$12.99."  It caught my attention due to the wonderful story and how it was so naturally told through the music and vocal.  The second time I heard it, I just had to find out more.  So now after purchasing your two most recent CD's and learning that you were a fellow believer and Alabamian, (here in Daphne-Mobile) I am now wondering, "Where have I been?"

Hope to catch your Auburn show in september, unless something sooner in this area happens.  Catch ya later.

Dave,
Another great concert in Decatur, GA Wednesday night.  I really enjoy the concert atmosphere of the last few performances I've seen.  Have you started taking performance enhancing drugs too, or is this a venue style that really lets your talents shine?  Also, the new Garden song is really good, I look forward to adding it to my Ipod soon.

Smart move giving your CD $12.99 to Christine Lavin.  I heard a few cuts from it on XM Radio (on her show "Slipped Disks") earlier this week and promptly ordered it.  It's a wonderful CD, certainly from the cuts I've heard so far.  Tomorrow morning I'll pop it in my car CD player and give it a good listen (or two or more).

I live in New Jersey (exit 131); imagine my dismay when I clicked on your concert schedule and discovered that you're not coming to my area. There are several venues that would be fine for you, so I'll talk you up when next I attend a local concert.  Also, in New York City there's Madison Square Garden and Radio City Music Hall.

I wish you all the best.  I'l check back periodically to see if concert dates are added to your schedule.

Jim

Hi Dave....

Bill from BBF...its been a while...

I just got done watching a story on ESPN featuring Barry Bonds and instantly thought of your song.."If I broke the Record"...so I was making my way over to my friends house and popped the cd in and listen and you are right on....

These towns roll by like tumbleweeds
Through the windows of these late-night trains
To those of us down here, it’s still a game
I may never be a hero, and you’ll never know my name
But if I broke the record, I would do it clean

"I would do it clean" just says it all...and the sad thing concerning Bonds this that he a truely great talent (with an edge) that will be remembered more by his poor choices.
I don't know if you had him in mind when you wrote this song but it describes him and others.

As he approaches the record controversy builds.  Hank Aaron is going to stay away.  If it is done in a visitors ball park "mayhem" anticipated.  What a horrible thing to do to baseball!!!

America’s favorite pastime, it’s simple and it’s pure
We all still watch the big leagues, but now we’re not so sure

Thank you Dave for a rich and honest singing style that stands out from so many others! You put the "Folk" back in folk music!
