Message Title Thank you...

Comments:

Growing up as a daughter of an Air Force SMSGT, and having several family members who serve our country in the various armed forces, I'm honored to be able to say "THANK YOU".  I don't say it enough, and I hope that you all know that it's because of you and your predecessors that we get to enjoy our freedoms every day.  It's because of your hard work and sacrifice that you have a great home country to come home to.  And, we can't wait til you do!  Thank you!

Message Title The Chance of Being Free

Comments:
My family and I pray for our servicemen and women that dutifully protect and honor this country, under God. May God bless you and keep you. Thank you from the bootom of my heart.

"War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feelings which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." --John Stuart Mill 1862

"I'd always believed in the importance of peace through strength. And the military is the provider of that strength. So we must equip them, train them and support them. Over the years, American military leadership has brought us to even greater heights than we could ever imagine. In times of peace and in times of war, America's military power has led our nation to many great victories." --Ronald Reagan (1993)

"These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country; but he that stands it NOW deserves the love and thanks of man and woman." --Thomas Paine

Message Title Be Safe Always

Comments:
As a former United State Marine, I say Thank You for everything that has been done to protect us, our principles, our country, our families, our rights, our dreams, our land, and each other.  Look over to the service person next to you; keep them safe, get them home, and provide friendship when you can.  Bring yourself home - your families are proud, miss you terrible and feel the pain in our hearts when we see a fallen comrade in arms in the local newspapers.    I work with people with sons, daughters, fathers, uncles, aunt’s nephews and nieces over in the land of the war.  They are anxiously waiting for your return - all of you.
Come Home and Thank You

Comments:
I can't find words to express my gratitude for the tremendous service you are doing every day and night for my family.

George Orwell was right when he said that "People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf."

Thank you for standing ready so that my children are safe and sleep peaceably.  You are a godsend.  You are in my children's prayers each night.

We will keep good faith with you, as you do with us.

Message Title A deserving thanks

Comments:

I do know first hand the importance of serving our Country as I gave over 20 years to the United States Air Force.  I appreciate the training that goes in to ensuring our troops are prepared to handle tough situations.  Every day...even in piece time military people train as if they are in real world situations.  Working around Nuclear Weapons, 2000 lb Bombs, Heavy Equipment, etc. and working long hours in sometimes extreme conditions (like wearing Chemical Warfare gear or severe weather) make the military soldier somewhat special.  The individuals that raise their hand to take on the career of a military soldier deserve our highest praise.  I certainly do and always will appreciate the men and women that serve our country that allow us civilians to have an opportunity to live in a country that offers so much.  Thank you, Thank you, Thank you

As an Army wife I see the sacrifices that our soldiers make. I just wanted to say thank you. Nothing breaks my heart more then to see a soldier saying goodbye to his/her family. Seeing that last hug and kiss before loading up onto the bus is both heartwarming and heartbreaking. I know many of you are missing so much while you are gone. The sacrifices that you and your families make everyday are unmatched by most people. The way that you do it with a smile and a "it's my pleasure" attitude is awesome. I cannot say how many times I have thought just how hard it is to leave your family. My husband leaves to go on that bus and I miss him. It's hard without him but I still have our children with me everyday (Some days I wish we could trade places but not really!LOL). You all have to give all that up plus the comforts of home and the assurance of safety. I see how hard this lifestyle is. I just wanted to say thank you. It's not enough, nothing ever would or could be but thanks.
I would also like to do a thank you to the surviving family members of those who have lost their lives. Your soldiers sacrifice is the highest.

I just wanted to take a second to thank all of those who sacrifice daily in order to ensure our freedom.  Our soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines have been fighting the war on terror on multiple fronts for many years now, keeping the rest of us safe.  I want you to know that we do realize the importance of the work that you do and appreciate that you do it. The sacrifices made by our men and women in the military and their families is what has, and continues to make our country great.

Thank you for your service.

I am so proud to be an American! No one else, nothing else could represent all that is good and honorable in our country as well as our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coasties.

In the mid-90s, my soldier-husband and I had occassion to be in Moscow as civilians. When our translator learned that he was a soldier, my husband became the most popular guy in any and every room. So many Russians would quietly approach him to express their 'shock and awe' of the US Military's performance in the Mid-East. Apparently, Russians were glued to TVs daily to follow the Gulf War, the daily briefings - any coverage. They were incredulous at the US miltary's performance!

* That we actually did have all the equipment they knew we had - and more!
* Even more amazed that it all worked, too..!.....LOL.....
* At the efficiency and professionalism of our military: from the youngest private all the way to the top!
* and at the character and spirit, displayed to the world by each and every one of our soldiers.

May God bless you all and keep you safe in His loving hands.

I just want to say thank you to all our troops, to my husband and all of our friends in 2nd Cav. My husband and I are just about done with our second deployment and it has been hard on all of us. Sometimes I wonder how I have made it so far. And I can only imagine how much strength and courage it takes to be in your place. To do what you do, everyday, when you are tired, and you miss your families, and your homes. It seems to me that it would be to much for ordinary people, and that you truely are heros. Because you do have so much strength and courage, but more so because you do this job that is so demanding, so time consuming, so painful at times, but you do it for people you dont even know. for strangers. thats what makes you a hero above all else. and i know that  saying thank you doesnt mean a hill of beans, but its all i have to offer so thank you! please take care!

As others have pointed out, "thank you" doesn't seem quite enough to say to all of you who are serving or have served for our country. But know this, you are our heroes... for yesterday, for today and for tomorrow.  Your sacrifices have given all Americans the freedoms for which many of us take for granted. Your families are our hometown heroes as so many people do not understand the quiet hardship of a military spouse, child or parent who must put up a brave front wherever he/she goes on a normal day. So all of you have my heartfelt thanks. My thoughts and prayers are with you; may God bless, and may you reunite with your loved-ones soon.
