Comments: CAROL/ont.......WELCOME BACK!!!!!!!!! Heh, did AMY eat THAT much that you had to get her out of the house before there was any money to spend on your luxery's??? Nah, I guess you just wanted her and her stuff out of there so you could move around? LOL! WOW on the TV "set up"! I want one of the new slim TV's too, but just can't seem to wrap my head around something as big as even a 40" inch one! I find myself going down in the basement and watching my 19 in. one very often. Guess ya can't "teach an old dog new tricks"??????? I tossed my mattress last month to make room in the bedroom for some LR furniture to be put so I could get new carpeting. Not looking forward to going mattress shopping. There seem to be a MILLION mattress stores. So, Congrats Carol on all the new household stuff and I bet you are excited about the new bathroom. So many nice things out there today to choose from!!!!!!! Hi Amy, congrats on the NY Yankees win and thanks for asking about me. I am going nutso today because it is a nice sunny mild day and one for tomorrow too, and I can't get out to enjoy it. RATS!!!!!!! HUGS for RALPH, Rose!!!!!

Comments: LOL Amy....not sure about the twin thing, but it's nice to know I'm not alone. I thought of getting a step myself...sure beats taking a running jump to get into bed or rolling out every morning. LOL And my room is so small that I almost get stuck between the bed and the wall every morning trying to make it. It is so comfy, not sure what it's made of. But I did find that my side is getting lower all the time and when I roll over toward the center I am going uphill. But it certainly seemed like a good idea at the time. LOL I'm sure a tall thin person would have no problems with it at all. And I'm sure you're not related to me. We don't give TV's here for Christmas. LOL This year I'm just giving out movie passes to come here to watch TV...Bet the kids will love that one.

Comments: Wow Carol- you've had a busy few weeks! I had a giggle picturing you with all these 'big' things in your house now. My parents have a 48" tv I think- their living room wouldn't hold anything bigger. I asked them for a new TV for my bedroom for Christmas, and dad wants me to get a 40" one. EEP! I'll never get to sleep at night. LOL! Mom & Dad got a new bed recently and mom has the same problem. She bought a little step stool (it's just one step) for it. Are you sure you aren't my mom's twin?
Buffy- You've got to take care of yourself! I meant to tell you that earlier.

Comments: Amy and Eileen, I'm here. Thanks for asking. Just very very busy the last couple of months. After today though I think things will finally get back to normal. Haven't even had time to read a book and haven't been to a movie in a month. LOL Since Ash moved out we have been busy re-doing all the bedrooms. Got a new king size bed that is so high I have to jump in every night and slide out every morning. LOL Then we got a new 50"Plasma TV and all the accessories that went with it. It's awesome, and I wish we'd done that years ago. This week we finally ordered a new front window too. It's huge. And we realized it cost us more that the new car we got when we got married. LOL It has been about 6 weeks of shopping around and dealing with salesmen of every kind. Not my favourite thing to do as most of them are trying to take advantage of you. At least the ones we saw. Today we also finalized a complete renovation for our bathroom, for the first week of January. All of this has been a long time coming, but we waited until Ash left for most of it. Now we'll be sitting home for the next year as the money tree in the yard finally died. LOL But that's OK. We can soak in the new tub, watch the new TV, and take naps on the new bed. Ben is still coming twice week. Sometimes a third day too. Good thing it's only a couple of hours a day as he runs me ragged. He's cute as a button and smart as a whip, just like his Nana. I haven't checked the board since yesterday morning and can't remember what I've read lately. Now that I'll be sitting home from now on I'll be able to get on here more often. Nothing going on here this weekend either Amy, but that's a good thing here too. Hope to make a movie tomorrow night. Gotta go clean up a few things before bedtime, but wanted to finally pop in and say hi. Hope you all have a great weekend. BTW...nice to see you pop in too Carol. Hope all is well with you and yours in SC.

Comments: Thank you all for the good wishes for Onyx. She seems to be back to herself, much to Cobalt's displeasure. Fortunately she didn't injure herself that badly. The ramp for my car has been ordered, so that should help too.
Rose T-I'll have to post pictures of all my knitting projects.
Where are Carol & Joyce from Ontario, and what about Daryla? We haven't heard from her in a while.
Hope everyone is well. Another weekend- not much to do which is probably not a bad thing. Gotta get back to work just needed a break from this spreadsheet.

Thanks for the information.

Comments: Mary...I read on the FOB board last week that they were not doing the Fall 2009 Bailey set this year. Very disappointing. The fair set are the spring ones.

Hi, was hoping you could answer a question for me. A friend of mine collects Bailey and friends. She is having a tough time right now and wanted to pick up the Fall 2009 ones for her. But I don't even see them on the Boyds website. Have they discontinued this line? Thanks for your help.

Comments: I just wanted to pop on and thank Lesetta from Country Gifts 'N Such for my great bingo prize. I was away for a long weekend and it was so nice to come home to my present. Thank you Lesetta for the gift as well as being a sponsor for the board. Thank you too, Dave and Linda for all that you do to help us have our home away from home where we can all gather with friends in cyber space. I do not post often but do read daily. My heart goes out to those in need, it soars with good news from floks and I am so pleased to just be able to keep up with everyone. Thanks again, Carol

Comments: Buffy, we are going to have to put you in a bubble!!! Have to agree with you the time change. It is just getting dark when I leave work now. I would rather have the daylight in the evening then in the morning. I am still on old time...keep getting up at 4am.
Prayers and Hugs to all in need.

Comments: Forgot to ask CAROL/ont if she went off and hibernated for the winter already back when we had that cold weather last month? Check in with us CAROL and let us know how that little BEN is doing! First day of daylight saving and it sure was hard to put the lights on at 5:10. I am NOT going to like the long dark evenings! It is raining here AGAIN tonight! WHERE is it all coming from??????

11/02/09 at 09:47 PM
Comments: Thought I had better get on and tell ELAINE C, that I hope she is feeling much better and hubby too! So much sickness going around. Also hope that ONYX is doing better AMY. So hard when our furry ones can't tell us where they are hurting. Have a fun and safe drive to Va tomorrow BARB! I am sure you will be "busting your buttons" when COLLEEN gets sworn in. Such a wonderful acheivement. You are such a good mommy and MORT too, for taking all that stuff down for COLLEEN. I DO hope you get to peek into BBC to see how it has changed. Just leave your wallet in the car. LOL! ROSE, glad RALPH is doing so well. Now that he is so much better, would you like me to come there and you can be MY nursemaid? I just keep injuring my back! The first time I deserved it as I tried to lift a heavy chair. Boy, it took weeks to get better. That was the lower back. Now, when I felt better and started to do a little more around the house I seem to have injured my Upper back. Oh Lordy! I am guessing that because I haven't used these muscles for so long that they are just so out of strength that the least little thing makes them ache. It is hard to even pick up the full coffee pot as I get that nasty twinge in the back. Everyone tells me I have to be patient, but I would say from April 13 to Nov 2nd is being MORE than patient..........RIGHT???? ROSANNE, glad to hear you and MOM are getting in some good shopping. That is a long visit. Is she planning to go back before the nasty winter weather sets in?? PHILLIES off to a great start tonight, but it is still EARLY so ANYTHING can happen. The 9th inning on Sat night was BruTAL. I stayed up to watch, so that is how I killed my extra hr. as the game was almost 1 1/2 hrs delayed for the rain.

Comments: Hi All,
I wanted to say a big THANK YOU to Beck at Timeless Treasures for the wonderful surprise that arrived at my house today for being a Boyds Bingo winner in October. Beck sent the sweet Bearstone "Marisol Flutterlee...Butterfly Kisses 1E. She is absolutely adorable, and I love her. Thanks for being a sponsor Beck, and thanks again to the Reinharts for doing the monthly Bingo. Hey Dave, the Thanksgiving decorations look very nice!

Comments: Hi everyone Love the board. Great job Linda and Dave. We are leaving tomorro for Virginia again. Taking more of Colleen's stuff. She is getting sworn in to the VA Bar Assoc on weds. Can't miss that. We drive right past Gettysburg so I am trying to figure out a way to get Mort to stop at the BBC. Just for a minute to check things out. Rosanne, glad things are going well with your Mother. It is good to have a shopping partner. Amy, hope the puppy is better soon. Elaine, hope you and Ray are feeling better soon. Get some rest. Comments: Afternoon Buddies....I thought I would stop in today. I LOVE the board. Thank you Dave and Linda for keeping our home nice. I still can't believe it is November already. The days are just flying by too quickly.
Ray took me to Urgent Care this morning. Both of us our sick. Ray has a infection going on....and I have pneumonia. I was so hoping not to have it. Lots of meds for both of us. Of course I have to take it easy and rest. Hopefully I can go back to *My Playground* on Wednesday. I am going to just rest as much as possible and drink lots of water.
Rose...I am so glad that Ralph is doing so much better. You have made my day. By the time Thanksgiving gets here. Ralph will be able to carry bags.. Give that man a hug please.
Amy...Yep...it is autumn here with those kind of temps. It is so cold in the early mornings then it warms up in the afternoon. I am trying to get use to the very chilly mornings. Our really cold snap we get out here is usually in Jan.
Off to watch football. Packers vs Vikings. Boy!! A hard decision for me to cheer.....but I am a Brett Farve fan.......so I am cheering for him...

Comments: The board looks great Dave and Linda!! Thanks for keeping it going! Rose...glad that Ralph is doing better each day but please tell him to take it slowly. We don't want him to have any more surgeries! Amy...I hope Onyx starts to feel better soon. I can just imagine all of the aroooos yesterday with all of those trick or treaters. Our time period was 2 hours and we only had 9 kids come to the door between 6 and 8 PM. It was warm out but slightly windy and damp. Mom is doing well. We've been doing lots of shopping and we go out to lunch at least once a week. I think her dental visits are over for a bit...thank heaven. Getting ready to watch football this afternoon. Prayers for everyone.

11/01/09 at 06:18 AM
Comments: Amy...nope no little tricksters last night or beggars night. I had to eat 2 of the snicker bars which I really don't need, LOL! When you get our Mom's Afghan done please send me a picture would love to see it. Sorry to hear poor Onyx isn't feeling well.
Elaine, Thank you for asking...Ralph is doing to darn well and it is hard to keep him down. He was out yesterday putting a new outside light up. I keep trying to stress not to lift anything for another 4 weeks. He should be fine to carry the bags when we go to the Homestead for the tree lighting over Thanksgiving... as it will have been 8 weeks, just in case I buy something, LOL!
Prayers and Hugs to all in need.

Comments: Rose T- I'm so envious that you don't have trick or treaters! Here in the burbs- we have tons. This year 'beggar's night' was actually Halloween- and all the cities and towns had it tonight so there was no crossover from other areas. Our city only does it for an hour and a half- others do it for 2 hours. We had 4 large bags of candy-almost 200 pieces- and we went through most of it. Erich didn't count how many kids there were. He said it was mostly traditional costumes- witches and spiderman and stuff like that.
I of course was in my usual position- with the dogs in the dining room. I had great hope that we would be able to confine them to the dining room and I would be able to sit in the living room, but Onyx was having none of that. She fell going into the vet today for her laser treatment and kind of sprained her paw and leg so she wasn't feeling well. it was a very long 90 minutes! Tomorrow we're going to the pet store to see about a ramp for my Rav-it's hard for her to get into it with her arthritis, and Erich's truck isn't any lower. I had to carry her out of the vet today. Poor little girl. She's only 8- or will be tomorrow.
I finally started mom's afghan last weekend-the fibro keeps my fingers from cooperating some nights. But it is going quickly, and I am so pleased with how it is turning out- I just know mom is going to love it. With any luck I will still have enough time to get hers done and most of dad's done.
Elaine-80 is fall for you? We hit 80 yesterday during our 'Indian Summer' and we had the a/c on in the house. Today it was in the 50s.
Everyone take care!

10/31/09 at 07:41 PM
Comments: Elaine, shouldn't I wait until Halloween is over first? LOL

10/31/09 at 03:16 PM
Comments: Happy Halloween Buddies....I do hope everyone is having a great one. Just have some fun tonight.
Ray and I will spend a quiet night here at home. He made his yummy hamburger stew. It will be yummers for sure. I think we will watch a movie or two to enjoy the night. We don't hand out candy here for Halloween. We live right on the HWY so children shouldn't be out here. Too dangerous for sure.
We are finally into our California fall weather. Very chilly in the morning and warming up to the 70's or 80's. We did have some high Santa Ana winds this week. Boy!! it sure did play havoc with my asthma.
Yesterday all of the students at *My Playground* dressed up for Halloween. What fun it was to see the little ones in their costumes. I just had a ball looking at the happy kiddos. So many cool costumes.
Ilona....Congrats on the little new one. I do love the name your daughter picked out. Happy thoughts for the new parents and grandparents too.
Rose T...How is Ralph doing? I sure hope he is healing up nicely. Poor guy has been through so much in the last year or so. Please give him a gentle hug from me.
Dave.....NOW remember to change the board. I just had to tease you a bit. I do love this board. It is sooooooooo cute.
Amy...How are you doing today?
Eileen...How are you doing too?
Off I must go. Time for a bit of lunch and cleaning...which I just don't feel like doing but must.
Have a blessed day and evening too. Prayers for ALL.

Beck...good luck with your Open House, sure wish we lived closer as I do miss the excitement of going right there to see all the holiday displays.
Ralph is still doing better by leaps and bounds...of course it is getting harder to keep him down. Almost have to tie him up before I leave for work.

Actually, to post a picture on the board, it has to have already been saved on a website somewhere and a link to it then provided. The board won't just let you post a picture from your computer.

Sorry I haven't been here much and am behind on everyone's news - seems like I am always busy anymore -

Comments: ROSE, Glad to hear Ralph is feeling better after a bad Sunday night. Hope getting the stitches out will give him more relief. BARB, hope you are back from Richmond and all went well. Isn't this the weekend for Evan's Christening? That should be fun! A tad milder here today, but very windy. I have gone out to pick up my MUM plants about 3 times already! CHRIS M, and cat4jan, can't help you with your questions but I know someone can and mostly likely will. The FOB board is set up to post pictures. You need to be a member though, meaning you need to buy the annual kit. JENNIFER M, there are lots that can help with the Bingo question. I do know that it is played here on this board and is Free. One Tuesday evening a month!

Comments: I am trying to identify this lovely bear I have acquired. He is 19" tall jointed except for his neck, ash test reveals he is synthetic fiber plush tan color embroidered nose and mouth, round plastic eyes, pot belly and humped back lighter tan paws sued ed material. He is sporting a lovely Boyd's Bear wear wool beige cardigan sweater with schoolhouse, green checks and gold florets finished with plain green buttons. Thank you for all your efforts in giving this bear a name. Chris M.

Hello all bear collectors. I am new to this site and a collector of Boyd's bear. I was wondering about the bingo and where it is played and does it cost? Hope you all have a nice day!

Comments: Ralph is doing better. No more nights like Sunday night when he was sick all night. He was feeling so good yesterday he hit the shower and got dressed. Have to take Ralph up Friday to get all the staples out and then he should be that much more comfortable. Thank you to all for the Thoughts and Prayers.
Missed bingo...I was sleeping shortly after it started so it was a good thing that I didn't even start the game. I see everyone enjoyed it and Congrats to the winners and I try to stay awake next month, LOL!
Off for another cup of coffee to wake up and get ready for work. Prayers and Hugs to all in need.
