Comments: Hi Everyone, Annie, so glad to see you are still in the land of the living. You'll never age woman.
It really is great to see all the "old" ones here. Won't stay long tonight myself though. Sitting here with a large Baileys and this keyboard has a mind of it's own at the moment . LOL Just got home from a show with Bill Engaval (I'm sure that is not spelled correctly), Jeff Foxworthy, and Larry the Cable Guy. OMG...I haven't laughed that much in years. Still smiling thinking about it. LOL We laughed for 2 1/2 hours straight. It's nice to have something to smile about these days...well worth the money. Joyce, I hope you enjoyed your show tonight too.
Be back soon with my other news, but need to be focused for that. Have a great weekend everyone.

Comments: Hello to All! Nice to see the BnB is back! I had an email from Elaine and she said you are all here. I'm still busy with historical society and my genealogy. Still love my Boyds! I can't part with any of them. DD gave me a Boyds snowman bear for Christmas, he has two small bears clinging to him - so cute! I miss seeing Boyds on TV and hard to find any in the stores. I'll be back again, just want to say "Hi!" for now.

I love hearing from so many good old friends that I've missed so much. I am still among the living and will post an update on my boring retired life tomorrow. Love and Hugs to All.

Comments: Hi everyone!
so nice to see some names from long ago (well, it seems like long ago!)
i had tried to enter on the classified boards, for the Hersheys cows and such...but darnit! it wouldn't let me? says something about having to log in....is there somewhere else we are to list what we are in the hunt for or what we have to sell?
i have an extra laurel bearribean, but bethy, there wasn't to be a tray w/ that one, right? 'cause this one doesn't have it...but before i list it on ebay, wanted to make sure i presented it correctly!!
Thanks for all of the info and help!
And, if anyone still needs help getting this year's ACS bear, email me and i'll get ya fixed up!
have a spiffy day...Ryan and bekah are callin'!

Comments: Well our Wiarton Willie here in Canada has predicted we will have an early spring. I think I will take our prediction over the US one. Yes we sure have had a crazy winter here with temps up to 10 degrees/50 degrees this week with rain which washed away all the snow we got on Sun. I guess with Feb. being a short month we will have to watch out for March. Joyce/Ontario

Hi Everyone! The groundhog has declared that we will have 6 more weeks of Winter! We've been lucky that the weather has been so mild here in South Central PA. Someone told me that the Almanac said to watch out for the end of February...I guess we'll just wait and see!

02/02/12 at 11:08 AM
Comments: Hi again! Greetings from central FL where we do need some rain! Enjoying my time here though..Haven't heard the actual Groundhog report yet..but my guess is 6 more weeks of winter..even though, the weather has been mild in some areas! Have a great day, where ever you are!

Comments: Hi Buddies! I hope everyone has enjoyed the weekend! It was truly glorious weather here for the end of January. Temps in the 40s, bright sunny sky. The wind has picked up in the past hour, and it is really howling outside now. The weather was so nice Erich was tempted to grill out for dinner.
Ann/Tn- I don't know about you, but the weather has to get pretty bad before we turn off the computers in this house! lol. Good luck to your nephew at Ole Miss!
Carol/SC- what a year you've had! Erich's mom had knee replacement a couple years ago, and she's in no rush to get the other done. But she moves so much better now than she did. Do you miss being near the ocean?
Rita- the bears have brought a lot of happiness, haven't they? I can't bear to get rid of mine, even though last year I converted the room from all bears to a guest room (twin bed- it's all that will fit) with bears. I display them seasonally now, although I'm a little behind. The summer bears are currently still out. When Sydney was here last April she loved some of them, including my Baby Boyds that I adopted at the nursery at BBC. So he went home with Sydney- carrier, clothes, toys and all. She loves him and cares for him, so I was ok with it. She thought it was wonderful that the room had so many bears in it.
Sharon/MI&FL- Annie threw the best parties. It was so much fun to go visit her.
Our weekend has been spent running errands. Today we went shopping for a new front door. We thought we just needed to replace the doorknob- because it seems to no longer recognize our keys. The keys just spin in the lock. The good news is we can't get in, and neither can anyone else! HAHA! When Erich tried to put a new doorknob on he realized the whole door jam needs to be replaced. So the little project has become a big one (like so many around here). I honestly had no idea there were so many options for doors! We have catalogs everywhere.
Found out today that one of my friends lost her dad yesterday. He was 90 and in bad health. She moved him into her house about 15 months ago and was taking care of him full time. He had gotten worse around Thanksgiving, so it wasn't unexpected, but still a rough time for her. Looks like I'll be headed to a visitation and/or funeral this week.
Bear hugs & beagle kisses to all!

Good to see everyone posting!!! Sure wish we could have another Bear friend get together. Would love to see everyone again. We have one of those digital picture frames and Ralph is really good on changing them around. Just seeing the pictures brings smiles! Worked on getting tax papers in order yesterday for the tax man. Good to have that done. Still waiting for some which should be here next week. Amy thank you to you and Eric for keeping this board for us. Linda and Dave please post to let us know how you are doing. Have a great Sunday and Prayers & Hugs to all!

Hi---it is so nice that the board is alive and well again. I have had so many great memories from collecting boyds and reading this board. But 2 events i will always remember was the first time Vince took me to a signing in Hartville Oh to meet the head bean. I was nervous and excited. And the second event was all the talk about a bear wedding on here. So I ordered a BnB shirt and ask Vince if he would take me to The Doll House for a bear wedding and he as ---what did you say---it was a little hard to explain about a bear wedding to someone do did not know anything about it. But reading about all the people who were working hard to make it happen was exciting. And all the work that doll house annie put into holding this special event---it was a happy memory and we met several people who are still boyds buddies today--so a big thank you for keeping the board active---boyds bears brought happiness to my life every time i looked at a bear---hugs----rita-----

Wooo Hoooo - the board is back. I guess that I am a little slow in noticing. I have been checking in for months and found nothing. I had not checked for a while but I had tried to get on and it said the site was not found. I thought it was gone. Tonight I thought I would try again and lo and behold, the board is back. Loved reading every one's posts and their news. Have been catching up on a month's worth of posts. It was great. Congratulations on the many retirements and awards. I cannot believe that all the babies on the board have gotten so much older and it was nice to hear that we are expecting another new baby soon, too. The last year for me has been rather hectic. I am no longer Carol from Coastal SC. The company I work for moved their corporate offices from Myrtle Beach to Greenville, SC. So, I went from the coast to 4 hours inland to what they call 'The Upstate'. Fortunately every one's move was paid by the company, so I could not pass it up. Even though I am 69 now, I plan to work for a couple more years. Ann, I am sure Jerry will understand that. I had a total knee replacement also this year. I have been fortunate though and have not had nearly the problems that Sharon has had. I still do not have full mobility as to bending but am close and am down to physical therapy only once a week now. I am glad that my other knee is okay as I do not know if I would want to go through it all again. It was not fun although I did get 16 weeks paid medical leave. Thanks to Dave and Linda for taking care of the site for us for so long, and thanks to Amy and Erich for keeping it alive for us. It is such a joy to read all the posts from everyone. So much time has passed and it seems that so many have had such drastic changes in their lives. Cindy, really, a teacher and Larry in college? Where does the time go? Best go. Everyone - it was so great reading all of your posts and I do not mean to leave anyone out on commenting on their posts. I do not take notes and even though I read all posts and am grateful for all news, I am really bad about mentioning each and every person.
Luv and great big Nana bear gugs to all, Carol

Our weather here in OK has also been very nice. We are to have rain the next couple of days but that is always appreciated as we are still behind from last years dry hot weather. I read State of Wonder it is a really good book and very different. For those of you who have read her other books I think you will enjoy this one.

01/24/12 at 09:04 AM
Comments: We have been having very unseasonable mild temperatures here in Ontario this week with rain. The snow we had has all disappeared. Yes feel so sorry for those folks in Alabama. Saw the devestation on the TV yesterday. Ann/Tn..I read a write up in our National Post about your Ann and the new store she opened and also about her new book. Good luck to her. Joyce

01/24/12 at 01:34 AM
Comments: Just checking in before heading to bed. Jerry is asleep in his recliner(a nightly event) and I going to read. Thank goodness the heavy storms missed us - we were under severe weather warnings but what we had was not strong enough to make me turn off the computer. My heart aches for the folks in Alabama who got hit again. I would much rather have a snow storm than a tornado!
My nephew, Kirk, left today to attend Ole Miss - he is transferring from another school where he had a baseball scholarship but baseball was not good for his health. We wanted him to go to Ole Miss all along - his Dad went there and it is a beautiful campus. His sister Kate is at UT working on her Masters in nutrition. Little Ann has opened a book store in Nashville and had a novel on the Best Sellers list this summer - *State of Wonder*.
Amy, I'm with you about the winter coat. I own one but have been wearing my BBC denim bear shirts as a coat this year.
Night-night!!

Comments: Sharon- That is awesome that your Mom played goalie. My great-grandparents lived outside of Montreal, so when Dad went to visit them, his Grandpa took him to the Forum to watch the Canadiens. Dad took me to hockey games growing up, we went to college and then the AHL team that came to Albany. And once he took me to Montreal! I loved that when we drove through Canada children were playing hockey in their driveways much like they play basketball here. I keep trying to talk my sister into finding a peewee league for Drew to play in when he's old enough- I told Drew he could be goalie for the Canadiens and get his favorite Aunt tickets! My sister wants him to play football, but he'd be so great at hockey. He's such a little bruiser. You'll have to let me know when you get another beagle friend. Mine provide endless entertainment. Except on Monday nights when Erich is in class. Then they mope around waiting for him to get home.
I hope none of our buddies were affected by the storms in the south. We had strong winds but thankfully no tornadoes.

Good Sunday everyone! Amy, saw your post about Hockey Night in Canada! I come from a long line of hockey fans and players! My mom played goalie with her brothers in Canada as a kid! My great grandson got his first net and sticks last Christmas and a helmet this year! He attends games with his mom and dad! He will soon be two! I am still without a beagle, but getting close to getting a buddy! Soon! I can hear the birds chirping here this morning! Have a great day!

Comments: Well, I certainly didn't mean to post big news and disappear... It was one of those weeks. I had a four day migraine- oh what a joy those are. I was able to function 3 out of the 4 days, but when I got home at night I pretty much crashed out on the couch. Erich's one computer crashed, (not the server) but it has set him back a little on the coding of the new BnB.
This morning we woke up to an ice storm. The weather people said we'd have some freezing rain overnight, but by mid morning all should be clear. It wasn't! We had nearly 1/2" of ice all over everything. I canceled my hair appointment in Dayton and we decided not to run our errands. The temp never got above freezing, and there was no sun today, so we are still iced in. Tomorrow is supposed to be near 50, so I think it will melt tomorrow.
Thank you all for the well-wishes. I hope our little home in Cybearspace will stay active. I love 'seeing' all my friends.
Elaine-I have to give Sarah a lot of credit. I don't know that I could move to a foreign country to work, and certainly not to a country so different from our own as far as liberties and rights. It really makes you appreciate what we have.
Ann/TN- Your job sounds like fun. I bet you get to meet some interesting people!
Doris/NY- I asked my mom last night how much snow they had, she said they only had about 4" on the ground. Last year when I was home for my Grandmother's funeral, the snowbanks on their street were easily 8 feet tall, and in parking lots they were as tall as a two story house. We've had a light winter here too, we haven't even had 1" total. Makes me wonder what March has in store for us!
Sharon/MI&FL- Good to see you pop in! It's nice that you are able to get out of the snow and soak up some sunshine.
Joyce- Thinking of you tonight. I'm watching Hockey Night in Canada- I started getting the NHL network. It makes me a very happy girl! I think every week this winter we've had 50's and 20's in the same week. The furnace at the office doesn't function correctly- so I never know how to dress. I come home at lunch and add layers if I'm cold, or change to a shortsleeve if I'm hot. Crazy!
Congrats to Laura & Steve and Kristy & Capt'n Ron for your awards!
Carol- I was just thinking last night 'Wow. I haven't had to dig out my boots yet'. And in November, when my mom was here, we went shopping at the new Kohls and she kept insisting that I needed new boots. I told her mine were fine, and I didn't use them as much as they do in NY. I won the argument when I told her instead of buying me new boots she could buy me blue velvet heels that were 4" high. I'm such a klutz- could you see me in those? HAH!! I have worn my winter coat, but not much. I hope the 'first frozen thing' you found was something dinner like and not, oh, say, a pie.
Hope everyone enjoys the rest of your weekend! Bear hugs & Beagle kisses to all!

Comments: Well, well, well, I see my long lost OLDER sister is here too. Got an email from Joyce and checked the board this morning. It was a really nice surprise to see everyone here. Thanks Amy...you go girl Congrats Sis on your bear(s). It's been a REALLY long time since I bought any or even looked at them. I was selling some of mine on Bearpaths and don't know what happened there. I got the money for the first lot a year ago and then never heard from her again after I sent the next box. They still show there but I assume she is out of business now. I have no idea if they sold or not or where there are now. If anyone has any idea please let me know.
Glad that snow is on that side of the lake Rose and Eileen. And yes those Honda's sure are nice Rosie.
Nothing really here at all except cold. Still haven't put my boots on yet. It's funny how it can be so different an hour away.
And I think about you too Sis. You should see my two little ones now. Cute as bugs and take right after their Nana.LOL
OK gotta run now and find something for the old man for dinner. First frozen thing I find in that freezer is going in the oven LOL Have a great weekend everyone, and again, it is So nice to see you all here again.

Comments: ROSE, Yes, that was some brutal "drive time" weather. I was IM'ing with JANICE/TX while it was going on, and I thought , HOW do you let someone in TX know what we sometimes have to cope with. I do not have to go out and drive in it, but watching the clock at day and thinking "DIL is not leaving for work (about 5:30 am), DGD is now leaving for work (6:30 am), DGS is heading for the school bus (7:35 am), YDS is now heading for downtown Bflo. (8:00 am) and then it all gets reversed starting at 2 in the aft. Doesn't help that ODS leaves work at MIDNITE, so I worry about him getting home OK. So I am constantly stressed out when we have this weather. HOWEVER, it is nice and sunny today, and I did get out to mail a package! Congrats to Laura and Steve and Kristy and Capt"n! I have bears from both of them and just LOVE them! Don't think the weather will be any too great for the weekend, but I only need to get to the Grocery Store for my week's needs, and that is only about a 5 minute drive! Great to see so many checking in here. Now don't forget to leave a little "Hello" post when you check in and not just read and move on by! The success of the board depends on ALL of US! Thanks again AMY and ERICH!

Hi everybody!!!! I've missed you!
Thank you Rose for posting about Steve Schutt and I being honored with a TOBY 2012 Industry's Choice for "S.S. Madeline". We were absolutely thrilled! When voting opens for Public's Choice and Best of Show, we would be honored if you voted for Madeline.
Sister Carol ~ are you out there? I've missed you and thought of you often!
