Comments: I write for a music magazine called Shindig! and I'd love to get a hold of someone from the group for an interview.
Comments: i worked with Frank the bass player when i was 16 he had just come back home from being on tour we worked at a clothing factory. It was cool for an aspiring young guitar player to meet and eat lunch with someone that i listen to there alblums. I have been playing for over 30 yrs and now my son plays . I looked Bang up in internet low and behold i found this website. I just wanted to say thanks to Frank for giving kids from delco hope that they could make it someday, i never did but my son is a pretty good guitarist maybe someday he'll get a shot like the guys in bag. There were some pretty good guitar players workin at the old ship and shore. [View Entry]
Comments: Hello, I'm 27, and i was over at my dads house yesterday, drinking some beers, soaking up some sun, going through his old albums for something to crank. low and behold he asks me if i have ever heard of Bang, and i had not. so he slips mother/bow to the king out of its paper sleeve, and blows the roof off. he went on to tell me about how its one of his favorite albums he has, his little brother got it for him back in the day. Long story short, it was a great album... and from a 3 piece?! wow! bang your head! the drawing of the old school bare knuckle brawler getting eye gouged on the cover is classic! thanks for the memory of yesterday, me and my old man rocking out to some classic, but timeless auditory rock-gasm. not to mention that I'm now a new fan of Bang... never too late to start, right?! Chad, SLC UT
Comments: I thought your stuff was going to be released on CD in a deluxe format... what happened? I am a huge guitar fan and Bang fan!
Comments: Hello, I´m Jorge, have 21, and I'm from Portugal an I just want to thank Bang for their music, for them who never gave up their dream to rise and see the world, and probably for all the frustrations that they where after 2 years stoped in the boxes, and still they didn´t looked back and kept on going and because, 39 years later, they can still make people believe that live was meant to be lived. I want also to thank all those others that are here for rock and roll, and since in history rock and roll died 7 times, punk died 3 times, and metal was assassinated in 94 and the blues are dead gone since Robert Johnson... the future couldn't be better. Rock out people!!
Comments: hello my name is Dean and I run an indie radio show at an online radio station out of Canada. I came across your band and I liked your music..I was wondering if you would send me a bio and a couple of mp3 tunes that I could play on my show.
Comments: I can remember the first time that I listened to BANG like it was yesterday but it was 1972 I knew you were great then and I was right you were and still are,,,,,just keep rockin those that care love the music those that don't, don't matter!
Comments: Gentlemen: You are fondly remembered from my youth, growing up in Allentown, Pa. My brother had the BANG album with 'Questions' on it and I remember that loudly coming from OUR basement den. That album was one of my favorites of all time. Now-a-days, living in Easton, Pa, I get to hear Lehigh University's radio station, WLVR 91.3. They play A LOT of older rock music, including BANG, even in triple-shot format. I just heard 'Bow to the King' Yesterday on my way to work! FANTASTIC to hear this style mussic on the radio; almost like discovering new music all over again - haven't heard it in quite some time. I have A.J. Fritz (a DJ there on Mon, Wed, and Thurs PMs) to thank, among other community DJs there. Thanks for being there, then and now! As A.J. Fritz always says, "Long live ROCK"
Comments: Happy Thanksgiving from BANG
Comments: Greetings… The guitar player from “our” basement band sent me this link the other day, and the vibes from that heady time came flooding back. Bang was our inspiration, we stood out front of the little bungalow on Hewes Avenue, we went to Rockford Park and we left Chi (High) early to go to Village Records in the Tri State Mall to get our copies of your first album. We then dove into basement rehearsals of our own, around the corner from the Ferrar’s house. Our bass player lived a block away on Worrilow Ave … By then, you guys were already on your whirlwind. We did play together once though… It was the 1971 Chichester Battle of the Bands. Obviously Bang wasn’t battling, you were the opening showcase, and that was very exciting for us. It also gave us a harsh dose of rock reality. You guys were very tight and Frankie G was on fire. Your equipment looked and sounded much more professional… black stacks scuffed and scratched from being hauled from gig to gig, as oppose to our shiny, gray sparkled Kustom Amps. And most importantly the swarm of young girls around you guys were much more impressive… their tops were tighter and tinier, their hip huggers were lower and hippier, and they had that alert, but aloof 70’s cannabis gaze. As oppose to ours, who were non- existent. That did it, we wanted to rock! There was one other thing you guys had that night that no other band could muster, and that was Bill Dugan… Seated on the stage floor, crossed legs, red hair and beard flailing, head full of acid and his beagle on his lap. Dugan simply sat there and grooved from his shoulders up in a psychedelic trance the whole time you guys played. Forget about Albert Tenaro, Joe Hooker, or any Pastorious you can name… Bill Dugan brought “the culture” to Chi that night. Thanks for then… and now!

Comments: Frankie My wife & I really enjoyed last nights Flashback show in Tampa, and appreciated you going out of your way for us last night in search of the one they call 'Rick' ![]() I meant to ask you about the sound city amp, as my band The Wholigans also has the 100 watt set up in mint condition(for now anyway) Pre cursor to the Hiwatt for The Who, a great sounding amp. Anyways, I'm sounding like a tech geek (which isn't true..I'm just a singer) Enjoy the tour . 2..down. Barry http://www.thewholigans.com/ http://thewholigans.blogspot.com/
Comments: I really enjoyed reading your story. It's the classic American rock and roll dream. Almost worthy of a made for TV movie (LOL). Anyway, after I found the first Bang lp, I made a point to get the other 2 lps, which took years to find in the midwest (but always were a special thrill to find!). I was a teen in the 70's so I didn't get rolling on guitar until about 73, but it was a great time for original music, and a degree of innocent enthusiasm about the possibilities of "making it big" that a lot of us shared. Keep adding chapters, even if the story doesn't end, it's still good to put it down for rock history.
Comments: As a music nut in the early 80's, a record shop owner talked me into Bang. I loved them and am happy to find the albums on cd. The queen still sticks in my head.
Comments: Hey guys! Wow! I have been writing my autobiography for the past four months and was doing some research online concerning certain dates during the time I was a concert promoter in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. I am up to 1973 now and have just come up on the BANG concert I promoted in my scrapbook (concert tickets, posters, etc.). You appeared with the Lee Pickens Group on September 8th, 1973. I'm sure you don't remember but I do! I Googled "Bang" just for S&G and this site popped up! Imagine my surprise. YOU SURVIVED THE SEVENTIES!!!!! hahahahahahahaha. I still have that first LP- Produced by Karl Richardson at Criteria and "assisted" by Ronand Howie. LOL. Sure brings back the memories. Just wanted to drop a line to tell you I am still alive as well, and living in my studio out in the Arkansas woods. ALl the best to you!
Comments: I was watching an episode of Scrubs from season 4 (MY FAITH IN HUMANITY) and there is a song that is played during the final 2 minutes of the show. One multiple websites the song is listed as CLOSER TO SPRING by BANG. i cannot find the song anywhere. Is it by this band here? If so, can someone email me with info on how to find the song? Thank you in advance. Tom |
