Comments: JoAnn and Jim, What a wonderful conference! The city, the hotel and the conference center were all excellent and the conference itself was even better. It was well organized, all the people staffing the operations were professional and , even better, warm and helpful. You certainly set the tone for the operations. Best of all were the sessions themselves. The ones I attended were excellent. The research presented was intriguing and well presented; the ensuring discussions were lively and enjoyable. The feedback I received from the audience will inform and improve our future research. Thank so much for giving us the opportunity to participate. Hope you consider another New Orleans conference. All the best, Regina Greenwood Nova Southeastern University Fort Lauderdale, FL
Comments: Dear Jim and Joan, The first time I went to the Reno fall conference in 2006, I had the feeling to be part of your family (your extended family :-)). You are extremely deep and beautiful persons. You are devoted to your work. Comments: JoAnn and Jim What a great pleasure it has been to meet and work with you over the years. The foresight both of you had in creating and developing the Allied Academies has benefited myself and so many others. Your willingness to support work like mine has afforded me both opportunity and promotion. I sincerely cannot thank you both enough for your contribution to myself and to the field of economics and economic education. With the most heartfelt gratitude, Fred Carr Professor and Director The Barker Center to Economic Education University of Akron

Comments: I would like to pay tribute to both Jim and JoAnn Carland for making it possible to academicians throughout the globe, both young and old, to exchange and disseminate knowledge. The review policy of Allied academies "if this manuscript is not suitable for publication, please advise how it can be improved", is a spirit that has continued to keep us together. Thank you making our dreams come true!!! Nelson Waweru York University Canada
Comments: Jim & Joann, You have created opportunity, enthusiasm, and caring for a wide range of schools and universities. Personally, I've felt you have gone out of your way to support theoretical and applied research from schools who are under the gun to publish, but had few outlets for their efforts for many years. As colleagues, you have been outstanding and as business school academics you have been pioneers with courage and empathy. Thanks so much for all your efforts! Comments: Occasionally one needs to be reminded of why they became a teacher. For me, renewal and re-dedication to teaching comes from attendance at Allied Academies gatherings. In addition to being reminded of the value of being a teacher one sometimes needs a role model to help the navigate the challenges they face in an academic settings. For me those role models are Jim and JoAnn Carland. Their dedication to helping people become better teachers, developing next generation education leaders, and just people outstanding individuals places them at the top of my all-time good people list. Best. Jerry Estenson Professor California State University, Sacramento
