I am trying to find info on a Marine who said he was with  H and S company 1/4 , 3rd Marine Division.  I was with 3/5 1st MarDiv in Nam in 1970-71.  This guy said he was with 1/4, in Nam in 1971 and this just doesn't sound right.  He wears basis Jump wings to boot. His name is James Freels.  He is big guy who lost his leg in motor cycle accident.  He is a big man and talks real loud and wears all kinds of USMC items.  I know he was in the Corps for sure,  but he keeps saying he was in Nam and I just don't believe it.  Anyone know of this guy,  please let me know. Thanks and Semper Fi.
P.S.  I served with 3/5 and 3/1 in Nam 1970-71 and became a corprman later and went back to Nam in 1975 for the Evacuation.  TCBnflash4@aol.com

Outstanding web site. I was with D Company 1st Bn 4th Marines, then H&S Company. Arrived Kaneohe Bay in Nov 1962 & left in Nov 1964. Served the rest of my hitch (including the 4 month extension) in Quantico.
While in H&S Company, I was a member of an eight man team known as Battalion Scout Radar Operators. We had this Army rejected ground radar contraption that would pick up troop movements.

I'm sure I bumped into Doc John C Kennedy while I was there. You guys had the best cough medicine on cold nights.
My brother & I joined a Marine Corps League about a year ago. It's a great detachment, lots of Viet Nam vets, as well as WWII and Korean vets and everything in between. I'm actually doing their newsletter now and trying to maintain the web site.

This is an excellent web site. Thanks to all who worked and are working to keep it up.

I served with Bravo 1/4 from August 25, 1968 to September 5, 1969.

I have located SSGT Donnie Schearer, a combat photographer who was with Bravo on the assault phases of the operations into the DMZ in September, Khe Sahn in October, and the Russell/Neville/Winchester/Catapult AO in January 1969.  I think we could get him to beef up our photo section.

Best wishes on maintaining this fine site. Suggest you get Charlie 1/4 to post the story of Mack/Sierra in March 69. Four Navy
crosses were awarded there.

Delta and Alpha should weigh in on the FSB Argonne battle (Laotion border) in March 69.

I was a corpsman with the 1st Battalion 4th Marines from January 1962 until march 1965. Most of my time was with H&S Company when I wasn't with C Company or at the Kaneohe Bay Dispensary. My entire enlistment was in Hawaii with the Marines! I am writing a book length memoir about my experiences with 1-4 and Hawaii from the time I decided to join the Navy in 1961 until my early release to attend college in 1965. Most of my memory is reinforced from letters I sent home to my mother detailing my experiences with the Marines, and the fun I had on liberty in Hawaii. If any of your members were with 1-4 during this time frame, I would like to hear from them, especially any corpsman. Keep up the good work. It's great to know veterans care!  "Doc" Kennedy

Corpsman attached to alpha Co 1st platoon Camp Hanson 74-75 Part of Eagle Pull & Frequent Wind while on float. Bounced from USS Duluth, Dubuque, Durham & Blue Ridge during operations. I remember Lt Green, CPO Heron, HM2 Chance among others. Survival school in the PI with the negritos, so many Vietnamese refugees! and all those fantastic liberties in Olongapo San Miquel beer and the LBFM's I even miss the the fried rice stand across from the front gate of Hanson. If you remember those days drop me an email. Would love to hear from you
